Did You Know Indoor Air is 5x More Polluted Than Outside Air?
I had high hopes for my annual Florida vacation. This year I was able to stretch it out almost a whole three weeks and was really looking forward to some lazy days soaking up the sunshine, a welcome respite from this record breaking Michigan winter. I’m not exaggerating even the slightest when I say it was cold. I mean had anyone even heard the term polar vortex before 2014?
Alas, it wasn’t meant to be. Oh, we made it to Florida alright. Unfortunately, we packed some nasty germs with us and arrived utterly sick. The combination of an incredibly high pollen count, sever allergies and a cold was too much. I spent the entire time absolutely miserable.
Experts are claiming that the weather we had this winter, with all of its record snowfalls are sadly setting ground for increased pollen counts, leading up to to a bad allergy and asthma season this spring. Normally, when the pollen count is this bad we stay inside but I recently learned thats really no solution at all.
According to AAFA, nearly 40 million Americans have allergies and more than 10 million have allergic asthma. And with Americans spending 90 percent of their time indoors where air is up to five more polluted than it is outside, indoor air quality is more important than ever.
Thankfully, I came home to the Fellowes AeraMax 200 Air Purifier, a total gem. My daughter and I have spent the last three days indoors recovering and I have noticed the huge impact having this HEPA filter has played.
In just a few short days we could already see some discoloration in the filter as it cleaned out the pollen and dust that had been hanging around our house. Not only could we see the difference in the filter, we could smell the freshness in the air. In fact, at nights when draining sinuses and a racking cough made sleep difficult I had my daughter sleep right next to the purifier. The combination of fresh air, chest rub and honey helped soothed her back to sleep in no time.
The Fellows AeraMax Air Purifier easily won our family over, our only regret is that it only covers 200sq feet so we will need another for each bedroom.
I received the AeraMax 200 for review purposes. All opinions and experiences are my own.
