Kids are heading back to school over the next couple weeks, and back to school preparations are either well under way or will be soon. What are some of the things you are doing to prepare your kids to go back to school? Below are some great initiatives the Boys and Girls Club of America (BGCA) are involved with for kids who are heading back to school.
The BGCA’s mission is: To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. They fulfill this mission through clubs that meet after school hours and during the summer. They provide kids a safe environment as an alternative to the street or being home alone. They also provide opportunities to kids to learn new skills that help to raise their self-confidence and belief in themselves and their future.

Do you need to get some school clothes yet? If you do, the Boys and Girls Club of America has partnered with JcPenney for the month of August. If you can join jcp cares your purchases can benefit the BGCA by rounding up your purchase at the register. So ‘round up’ at JcPenney this month to join the initiative!
The BGCA site also offers great tips on time management and helping children set goals. Do you have a child who has a difficult time getting into homework mode? Then you may want to check in to the powerhour hints. Also, if you happen to have children who are college bound, there are tips on there about that as well. To access this information go to the BGCA website, then scrolling down below the header you will find a section called Get Ready!
I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Boys and Girls Club. I received a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.
