You Can Never Go Wrong with the Gift of Disney

If your friends and family are anything like mine, you can never go wrong with any Disney related gift. My grandma would always renew my brother’s and my annual pass to the parks (back when they were $99 a year) and the rest of my family would always give one another something Disney related, whether it be a specialty mug from the parks, or a favorite movie that was recently unlocked from the Disney vault. Last year, I bought my mom one of her favorite gifts to date, a one-year D23 membership that allows for special Disney access along with a ton of free goodies that get shipped to your home throughout the year. Once a $39.99+ membership, this year, Disney fans can treat themselves and loved ones to the gift of D23 starting at absolutely no cost!

Joining the D23 membership allows guests to unlock the world’s only Official Disney Fan Club and have access to featured Disney articles, events, and special promotions online. The official D23 website, allows members only to have exclusive access to special in-depth content. The site is updated daily with news about Disney theme parks, live-action features, animated films, television shows and celebrities. There are behind-the-scenes exclusives from the Walt Disney Archives, including never-before-released photos taken personally by Walt Disney. For kids of the ’90s there’s a celebration of the Disney Afternoon. And for fans of Disney TV shows today, there are exclusive interviews with stars of Once Upon A Time and Phineas and Ferb! The site also features the complete Disney A-Z, with more than 7,000 entries from the Disney encyclopedia.

This free membership offers access to members-only content on, exclusive merchandise in addition to the money-saving discounts, while the paid-memberships of $34.99 and $74.99 per year come with additional perks.

Each new and renewing paid D23 Member receives a special collectible gift from The Walt Disney Archives Collection along with the opportunity to attend special events all over the U.S.

D23 Members can take part in amazing tours of the Walt Disney Studios and Archives, signature events at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort, special screenings and events at Disney Stores across the country. Members also receive a special discount to Disney’s D23 Fanniversary 2014 event, which will visit 10 cities in the coming year. These unique experiences are created specifically for members of D23: The Official Disney Fan Club.

One part of the membership I wish I was able to get for my mom but didn’t come with her silver D23 membership is the official Disney twenty-three magazine.  This glossy, oversized, quarterly publication is sent exclusively to only D23 Gold Memberships, and each issue includes in-depth features and vibrant imagery that can often be framed after, the pictures are that good of quality. For $74.99 a year, the quarterly publication may not seem worth the extra cash, but it truly is.

In addition to all of the already stated perks, paid D23 memberships provide discounts to the Disney Store,, Disney shows on Broadway, House of Blues in Orlando & Anaheim and Mandara Spas across the country, along with The Walt Disney Family Museum, and local hotels near Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts.

A D23 membership is a great holiday gift that you can give yourself or a loved one, with the perks lasting all throughout the year. If you’re interested in signing up for a free membership, or want more information on what comes with paid memberships, you can find all information on their official website,
