Someone Finally Gave the OtterBox a Stylish Makeover

A big thank you to Bubblegum Basics for providing a stylish OtterBox Commuter Case for review purposes. All opinions are my own, as always. As you may have noticed I'm notoriously hard on my phone. I can't help it, my phone is practically glued to my hand - much to the annoyance of my husband. Like most iPhone owners, I use it extensively for work AND play. Being new to the world of expensive phones and protective cases I did a little research. It was immediately evident that OtterBox … [Read more...]

I MUST have the latest tablet, smartphone, speaker, and accessory. I'm making efforts to get healthier and more active so my new fascination are gadgets that track your activity like the Jawbone Up. Welcome to the “Apply Family” iLuv Artstation!

My relatives joke that we're an Apple family. We have iPhones, an iPad and a MacBook. But I can't help it they make such amazing products I've become addicted. But one thing I'm less than satisfied with are the accessories. We have a handful of iPad cases and a speaker but they all lack versatility. I can lay a an iPad horizontally in a case, but not vertically. I can hook it up to speakers but I can't stand it upright at the same time. Cases that are functional usually aren't very … [Read more...]

Get Ready To Say “Awe” Over These Baby Photographs

I've always been interested in photography but have never really went anywhere with it. My husband bought me a simple but nice point and shoot before our last family vacation and it's worked just fine. But when my neices were born, my photography passion was renewed. There is something about tiny, squishy newborns that makes me want to dress them up in take pictures. So when I got the Olympus E-PL3, I called my sisters and set up a mini photo shoot. I was so excited, I even had an … [Read more...]

What Promises Do You Make to Your Cell Phone?

If my cell phone and I took a relationship quiz, you know like the ones you find in girlie magazines, we would totally fail. But like most relationships, it doesn't start out that way. I itch for the time my contract expires so I can get my hands on a shiny, new cell phone. And then I make it all sorts of promises like..."I'll always keep you safe and secure.""I'm going to show you the world.""I'll never let you out of my sight.""I'm going to buy you all sorts of bling, baby.""Don't worry, I … [Read more...]

My Long List of HeartBreaking Technology Accidents

I'm notoriously hard on my technology products. For instance I have a laundry list of very expensive, heart breaking technology accidents: I accidentally flushed my 2 week old cell phone down a toilet. My brand new laptop crashed to the floor when I left it plugged in and my daughter ran over the cord with her walker. My iPhone shattered on the concrete when I forgot it was on my lap as I exited the truck. In my defense these..and a few other stories, took place over the span of a … [Read more...]

Keep Your Digital Life Neat’n Tidy with these Windows 8 Organizer Apps #WindowsChampions

Spring cleaning, two words that make me groan. I dread any type of cleaning, regardless of the room or the season. I don't do floors or windows. I can, and do however, keep my computer and digital life organized. It's the one space in the house that's exclusively mine. I may not be able to keep the kitchen counter clear of sippy cups, or dirty clothes off of the laundry room floor, but I can keep my digital life free of clutter. Windows 8 has some awesome apps that have helped me manage … [Read more...]

SkyDrive and Office 365 Allows Me to Work from Anywhere

Six years ago, when I had a job that allowed me to work from home, life was grand. In the evenings, I ran marketing events at the local bars, and during the day I entered recaps and filled in spreadsheets from the comfort of my home office. Not being in an office environment increased my productivity since I had less interruptions and distractions. Today, working from home, while my 2.5 year old and 4 year old play inside and out, tear the house apart, and ask me questions every five minutes, … [Read more...]

Dear Maddilyn, You’re Growing Up Too Fast For Me

Dear Maddilyn, Today as I was sitting in my working spot, plowing away at a mountain of homework when you stepped away from your busy play and came to stand next to my chair. Most times you know that I'm working and you just stop over for a quick hug or a kiss and then it's back to your play. But today you needed my attention. You said "Mom, I want you to clap and I'll sing to you." I had no idea what you were about to do....you did something I never seen before.   I laughed so … [Read more...]

Close The Distance Of A Thousand Miles With A Call #ToMexicoWithLove

My family and I have always been exceptionally close. So when I turned 18 and moved 2.5 hours from home I found myself homesick often that first year. One of the best cures for homesickness was a drive home for the weekend but on a college students schedule there were many times that wasn't possible. So in it's place I would call home to complain about classes, check in on my siblings and talk to my parents. Just hearing my families voice on the phone made the distance seem more bearable. Before … [Read more...]
