Disney Pixar’s Brave: Easter Eggs Revealed

Disney Pixar's Brave Easter Eggs Revealed

Did you know Disney• Pixar films all contain secrets or what the studio refers to as “Easter Eggs”? How many Brave Easter Eggs did you spot while watching the film? Hint: They are all in one scene!

I’m a little ashamed to admit that I had no idea these existed until writing this article. Now, if we were just casual Pixar movie fans that would be one thing, but we’re not, some might call us Pixar fanatics.

You see, when we learned I was pregnant we started buying all available Disney movies and currently own all Disney Pixar films that have been released to DVD/Blu-ray. My daughter has made sure that our movies don’t collect any dust, which means we watch them on a regular basis. So, how is it I didn’t know about these hidden treasures? Now that I know about them I can feel a Pixar marathon weekend coming up so I can challenge my hubby to see which one us finds them first!

In WALL•E, a Mike Wazowski antenna ball, a tribute to Monsters Inc., is uncovered during WALL•E’s explorations, and in Up, the classic Luxo Jr. ball can be seen in the girl’s bedroom as Carl Fredricksen’s house flies by her window.

The latest Disney•Pixar epic action adventure film, Brave, features a few treasures also, two of which are revealed here:

You can spot the first one in a scene with the Witch and its actually one of the woodcarver’s creations. The carved figurine, is the infamous Pizza Planet truck, the classic vehicle which has made an appearance in every single feature film Pixar’s ever done, since Toy Story in 1995. Does anyone know the location of the truck in the other Pixar films?

If you’ve seen Brave, I hope you were paying attention during the witch scene because the second “egg” is in another of her wood carvings. Sulley, the lovable blue monster, from Monsters Inc. and one of the stars in the upcoming Monsters University appears carved into a log.

Brave is a beautiful and moving new fairy tale that fits seamlessly into the genre; Princess Merida is a wonderfully multi-facted heroine; the film shapes itself around problems that are familiar and understandable and will be well-understood and appreciated by kids and parents alike; the supporting characters that are given the most attention are well-crafted (but too bad for those others that fall by the wayside). The visual effects are flawless , in my opinion, the best of al thel Pixar films.
