Trust me, you’ll want to try this awesome Game Day or Party Appetizer Recipe…Hot Cheesy Onion Dip with Bacon

It’s football season and households across the country are being taken over weekly by face-painted fans, beer and skipping any ingestion of a ‘real’ meal in favor of delectable, savory snacks and more snacks. Let’s face it, game days are practically like holidays and no holiday is complete without a smorgasbord of delicious food.

I spend more time than I would like to admit on collecting all the yummy tailgating or perfect party appetizer recipes year round and then have a hard time choosing which ones to make each weekend.

While I have a few tried and true game day recipes that I like to whip up, this year I was inspired to create a new favorite from one I saw at the grocery store the other day.

While simple Creamy Onion Dip is a classic staple for any party, I’m always looking for ways to elevate game day recipes. By adding just a few more ingredients (like bacon!), this is a fast, easy way to really bring the flavor of tailgating into your home (aka homegating).

My favorite part of this recipe is that it taste like it was so much more work than it was.

I’m a big fan of saving time without sacrificing flavor so skipping the long and slow process of caramelizing onions is a big bonus here.

Plus, this is a dip that’s delicious served warm and still yummy as it cools to room temperature so it’s good the whole game thru.
