I’ve never been to St. Lucia, but you can bet its on my list of places to visit. Actually, I’m planning to surprise my hubby with the honeymoon we never had, with a six night/seven day all inclusive trip to the island! Lucky man, right?

I can’t wait to walk on the unspoiled beaches, explore the tropical rainforest and photograph the majestic Piton mountains. The islands natural waterfalls and  breath-taking views will set the perfect scene for our romantic getaway. Saint Lucia (pronounced Saint LOO-sha) is also called the “Helen of the West Indies”. The island is home to one of the world’s only drive-in volcanoes. How cool is that?

We’ll spend our first three nights at Ladera, located in the southwestern town of Soufriere! Ladera is famous for its rooms, that all have an open wall on the west side, so you can enjoy unobstructed views of the Pitons. I’m not sure how I’ll be able to sleep, when I can stare in wonder at the natural setting or enjoy a dip anytime in our private plunge pool!

Next we’ll head to Cap Maison, for three nights at the fashionable boutique hotel, located on the northernmost tip of the island in Cap Estate. This luxurious resort sits on a private cliff and has spacious suites, many with private terraces and pools! We’ll relax on the private beach with a book and a cocktail. Cap Maison offers all the comforts of home like iPod docking stations and plasma televisions, but who watches TV when staying in a tropical paradise? Not me!!!!

Jealous yet? Well…actually, this trip isn’t quite a reality, you see, St. Lucia is having a “Six Nights in Paradise Sweepstakes” and any U.S. resident 21 and up is eligible to win.
