HEART IN THE SAND HEART IN THE SAND

When my husband and I first started discussing a trip to the Dominican Republic my first instinct was to bring our daughter.  My mind started spinning with all of the amazing things I wanted to introduce her to. Before the trip was even official, time for my husband and I was disappearing. Part of a happy, healthy marriage is making time for each other. Which is why my husband and I ran away for 5 days. We left our child with the people we trusted most in the world and we ran away to the Dominican Republic. Inspired by the Mars Healthy Living site, we didn’t check in every day and we weren’t glued to our cell phones. We gave ourselves permission to simply be a couple.

    I have to admit that my husband and I don’t get to do date nights very often, but luckily he works from home at least 3 days a week and we go out to lunch while my son is in school.
