I Just Got a Scholarship to Monsters University! #MonstersUEvent

I’m going back to school, can you believe it? In honor of the June 21st release of Monsters University, myself and 24 other bloggers have been invited back to school. The last time I was in school, I majored in Human Biology. This time, I’m kicking it up a notch by dual majoring in Human Scareology and History of Walt at Monsters University. Whistler and I have already been practicing our Scare Faces for months now….

Ever since college-bound Mike Wazowski (voice of Billy Crystal) was a little monster, he has dreamed of becoming a Scarer—and he knows better than anyone that the best Scarers come from Monsters University (MU). But during his first semester at MU, Mike’s plans are derailed when he crosses paths with hotshot James P. Sullivan, “Sulley” (voice of John Goodman), a natural-born Scarer.  The pair’s out-of-control competitive spirit gets them both kicked out of the University’s elite Scare Program. To make matters worse, they realize they will have to work together, along with an odd bunch of misfit monsters, if they ever hope to make things right. Screaming with laughter and oozing with heart, Disney•Pixar’s “MonstersUniversity” is directed by Dan Scanlon (Cars), produced by Kori Rae (Up) and features music from future Rock-and-Roll-Hall-of-Fame–inductee and award winning composer Randy Newman (Toy Story 3).

Hey Mike and Sulley – save me a seat!

My Backpack is filled with everything a modern student needs as they head off to college:

  • My Samsung Galaxy Camera for capturing wild parties  memories and scenery.
  • My Microsoft Surface RT Tablet – because pencils and paper have become archaic.
  • My iPhone…obviously for texting. No more getting caught passing notes in class!

Orientation is Monday April 8th, where I’ll spend time watching videos of actual scare graduates in Monsters University at Pixar. Plus, we will get to see the short film The Blue Umbrella. I don’t think I’ll be caught napping in class this time around.

Tuesday, April 9th, I’ll put my note taking skills to work when I interview Director Dan Scanlon, Producer Kori Rae, and animators of Monsters University. I’ll be photographing my way through a tour of Pixar Headquarters for extra credit and you’ll be able to follow along via Instagram.

Then it’s the day we’ve all been waiting for. Graduation! On Wednesday, April 10th I’ll take a tour through The Walt Disney Family Museum before heading home with my degree in Human Scareology and History of Walt from MU.

Follow us on the twitter hashtag #MonstersUEvent and stay tuned for an exciting recap of all the hijinks and pranks!

I have been invited to attend Monsters University by Disney/Pixar and will receive a full scholarship to pay for all my expenses. I have promised to complete all my homework in a timely manner and not to cheat on tests. School supplies have been provided by Samsung Mobile and Microsoft.

OMG! That sounds sooo cool! A little unreal, actually lol Do you get to take your son or is this just a moms-turned-children-again thing?

No, this is a business trip. But I’m definitely bringing home some goodies for him!
