Spring is right around the corner and I can’t wait! Between the Holidays and the general cold, my house seemed to have accumulate some clutter over the winter. With 3 people living in 1200 square feet, we don’t have room for clutter so I’m looking forward to spring cleaning. While I’m looking forward to cleaning out the house, I’m also inspired by Seventh Generation to also clean out my closet. But I have a bit of a confession to make though..I have a serious potential to be a hoarder.
I have the tendency to hold onto things that I “might use one day.” Usually I’ll hold on to them for a few months and then get rid of them…but sometimes I find excused to hold onto things longer. What’s puzzling is that holding onto these items actually makes me feel worse then if I had to buy them new.
So this year I’ve adopted a new motto – “Simplify and Purge.” Out with all of the excess, out with the clutter. Out with millions of products that do the same thing. Out with expired beauty products. Out with products I “might use one day.” Surprisingly, I had a lot more products to purge than I thought!
So I pulled all of my beauty products onto the counter and took a photo to share with you…
Then I did it. I purged the things I had been making excuses for. Now I feel even more empowered and my bathroom looks fantastic! Plus, I had room for my new lineup of Seventh Generation products.
I had never used Seventh Generation products before, but their clean design and simply made products with plant and mineral based materials seemed like a good idea to me. They contained no harsh chemicals or additives which fits right into my new simplify motto. While I was on board with the message, I’m still a woman who wants products that feel and look good. I want my husband to hug me and pull back to say “Mmmm, You smell good.” If a product can make me feel good, and get that reaction out of my husband as well, I know it’s a winner. I don’t know if it was the Lavender lotion or the relaxing Chamomile but I’m on day 3 of my Seven Day Natural Beauty journey and he has said it twice.
“When it comes to personal care, beautiful skin is healthy skin, and what’s healthy for our skin is healthy for the environment….and when the environment is healthier so are we. Everything is connected. Seventh Generation’s personal care products return skin to its most natural state by providing simply what your skin needs, and no harsh chemicals or faux benefits, guiding you down the path toward healthier, naturally beautiful skin.”
