Shellac Nails Review

When you work from home, it’s easy to fall into the habit of “not bothering” to blow dry your hair, or put on your makeup, or paint your nails. Unfortunately, this eventually has an impact on your self esteem and overall happiness. I stopped painting and “caring” about my nails because they looked worse the 2nd and 3rd day with all the chips and I didn’t have the time to do them over again.

When I went to BlogHer 2 weeks ago, I was thrilled to find out about CND Shellac. (yes, I have been living under a rock). It’s a new polish that is 100% non damaging to your nails and stays looking great for up to 14 days!

CND actually grew out of a product that was discovered by a dentist, Dr. Stuart Nordstrom.  He initially discovered the use of Shellac as a nail enhancement product because of a comment made by a patient.  She had made an off-handed statement about the smell of the material used to make temporary caps smelling like the material used to sculpt porcelain nails.  The result was SolarNail Liquid; it was the first-ever monomer formulation for increasing nail strength without yellowing the nail color.  It actually transformed the industry and changed the future for the Nordstrom family.  With continued advancements in technology, SolarNail Liquid eventually grew in to CND.

There is a huge assortment of nail colors and effects that will make your nails shimmer, add bling or sparkle. CND Shellac guarantees amazing results with 14+ day wear, mirror shine and zero dry time!  I was treated to my first service and was really impressed with how beautiful they looked that evening.

I had forgotten just how much having pretty nails made me smile. I immediately thought to myself, “now I could make time to do this once every 2 weeks” for just how happy they made me. I couldn’t stop looking at them the entire time I was in NYC and they even stood up to quite the beating when I had to open and unpack over 50 cardboard boxes that same night!

Seven days later, my nails still looked fabulous…

And even today, day 14 – they are just barely showing signs of wear and nail bed growth.

I’m definitely going to find a salon near me to get this done on a regular basis. Not only had it boosted spirits, but it has also helped my nails to stay strong and grow longer with no breakage. Its a win win all around and I’m so glad to have been introduced to CND Shellac!
