Numbers. It’s always in the back of a blogger’s mind. Are they too low? Have they fallen from last month? Am I growing? Where are they (and by they, I mean YOU) coming from? How are they finding me? Why are they here?

It’s something I used to obsess over. I used to keep detailed spreadsheets and some where along the way I just stopped. Instead of looking and logging every morning and evening, I started checking once a day, then every few days, then once a week. I now check maybe once a month?

In some ways I suppose thats good. It means I’m busy. Busy enough that I just don’t have the time to obsess over traffic numbers and details. But in others, it’s not so good. It means I’m not aware if I am doing things right or when I’m just speaking to an empty room (which I hope is never the case). If I’m not aware of who YOU are and WHY you’re here, then how can I expect to nurture and grow what we have? (Don’t ever leave me….cause I find you!!!!)

So, in an effort to gain some insight into the who’s and why’s and how’s of this little space that has completely changed my life, I’d like to start sharing a monthly traffic and blog insights report with you.

First, I have to thank the incredibly amazing Ashley. She has been with me for such a long time that I can barely remember what it was like before she joined my team (and I don’t want to!) Without her help, I know I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish so much with Surf and Sunshine, in such a short amount of time.

I’d also like to thank the rest of my team of awesome contributors (Melissa, Jayda, Jennifer, Laura, Riki and Jessie). It’s because of them, that I’ve been able to bring you such a wide variety of content and interesting viewpoints. I am so appreciative that they lend their time and voices to become a part of the Surf and Sunshine family!

And (I feel like I’m accepting an Oscar or something) I can’t leave out Sadie (Slap Dash Mom) – the inspiration from which this post arose.

So without further ado, here’s the nitty gritty of what went on last month on SurfandSunshine.com…
