There are plenty of attractions for the family in Las Vegas. There are theme parks, zoos, an aquarium with mermaids as well as fish, and even a children’s museum (for children rather than of children) but in reality they are not any more special than you would find in any similar location.
Don’t be disheartened. In fact, one of the best things about Las Vegas is that it is situated in the Mojave Desert, which happens to be a particularly exciting place to be. So if you want to have a holiday that you will never forget, hire a car and get out of town.
One of the best places to head for is Death Valley. A few hours away by road, it is well worth the journey. This is one of the World unique areas. It is almost 100 meters below sea level and at Furnace Creek the highest air temperature ever measured on the planet has been recorded.
The Red Rocks of Sedona really are as gorgeous as you think they would be. The scenery looked like it had been painted, the colors were so vibrant. There are also some of the world’s most interesting badlands, and Zabriskie Point has the most stunning erosional landscape you are ever likely to see.
While you’re at it, you might as well check an item off your bucket list because you are not far away from the Grand Canyon. It is another experience that your children will never forget, and much more impressive that any them park thrill ride. If you really want a thrill then take a helicopter ride into its depths.
