A few weeks ago I was sitting at my desk, hitting the keyboard (as I am now), when my 4 year old walks through the front door, and yells “Mom, come see my friends.” Seriously concerned about who/what she was referring to, since there aren’t any young kids that live nearby, I rushed out of the house.
I looked around and didn’t see any stranger danger, no stray cats or dogs were watering the yard, so what in the world is she talking about? “Right there Mommy, right there, look these snails are my new friends.” I was kind of shocked that my super girly girl, that refuses to wear anything but a dress, was “collecting snails” on her Barbie jeep.
My mind was racing, where did she find them? Why the sudden interest in snails? Then it hit me, she probably saw a preview for DreamWorks Animation Turbo. Have you seen the Turbo trailer yet?
The movie is about an ordinary garden snail, Turbo, that becomes extraordinary after a freak accident. Turbo (Ryan Reynolds) might have physically changed with his new gift of super speed, but he still has the same kind heart. He’s got big dreams, of being the greatest racer in the world, like his hero, 5-time Indy 500 champ, Guy Gagne (Bill Hader), but his heart is bigger.
