Wreck It Ralph’s Gonna Wreck It at El Capitan + Family Day with Wreck it Ralph Giveaway!

Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph was a trip down memory lane for me, as I remembered long lost weekends I spent with friends running through all of my couch and car scrounged quarters in the arcades. I had the unique opportunity to attend the Red Carpet World Premiere last night at the historic El Capitan Theatre with Ben and my 3 year old son, Whister. Read and see pictures from that magical experience here.

From Walt Disney Animation Studios and Emmy®-winning director Rich Moore comes “Wreck-It Ralph,” a hilarious, arcade-game-hopping adventure. For decades, Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) has been overshadowed by Fix-It Felix, Jr. (voice of Jack McBrayer), the good-guy star of their game who always gets to save the day. Tired of playing the role of a bad guy, Ralph takes matters into his own massive hands and sets off on a journey across the arcade through multiple generations of video games to prove he’s got what it takes to be a hero.

On his quest, Ralph meets tough-as-nails Sergeant Calhoun (voice of Jane Lynch) from the first-person action game Hero’s Duty, and feisty misfit Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman) from the candy-coated cart-racing game Sugar Rush, who may just be his first real friend. But everything changes when a deadly enemy is unleashed, threatening the entire arcade and Vanellope herself. Ralph finally gets his chance to save the day—but can he do it in time?

Rated PG by the MPAA, “Wreck-It Ralph” crashes onto the big screen on November 2, 2012, in Disney Digital 3D™ in select theaters. For more information, visit Wreck it Ralph online, on Facebook, and on Twitter.

If you live in Southern California, you need to see Wreck-It Ralph in wreck-tacular 3D at Hollywood’s legendary El Capitan Theatre.

If you’ve ever heard the saying, “No one does Magic like Disney” (and you may not have because I might have just made that up, but I know you’re totally picking up what I’m putting down, right?), then the same holds true for the El Capitan. This is the ULTIMATE theatre to see a Disney movie in! From the live organist to the “wonder” that is the drawing of the curtains (you know what I mean if you’ve ever seen a movie here!), the El Capitan will give you that little extra Disney Magic that no other theater I’ve ever been to can give.

From Nov. 2-Dec. 18, 2012, the El Capitan is taking fun to the next level with live stage appearances before every showtime, by Ralph and Vanellope. Your family will LOVE seeing the characters larger than life – I know we did! Then, as you’re taking your seats,  you can daydream about the famous butts that may have been keeping that seat warm for you just last night!

Plus, after the movie you and the family can check out The Art of Wreck-It-Ralph Exhibit, on display in the lower lounge of the El Capitan Theatre. This exhibit features an exclusive behind the scenes look with visual and character development art, prototype candy cars from Sugar Rush, plus much more.

Want to make the film even more special for your little ones? Make a reservation on Saturday or Sunday, to enjoy a special character breakfast with Vanellope prior to the 10 a.m. show at Disney’s Soda Fountain & Studio Store. Seating is limited and reservations are required by calling 818-845-3110.

If you have younger kids, you’ll want to try going on Nov. 6, 2012. At 10 a.m. the theater will host Tiny Tot Tuesday, where parents and small children can enjoy the movie with lights dimmed (rather than completely out) and reduced sound levels. This, by the way, is a fantastic idea because there were a couple times in the movie where I could tell that the sound was a little too intense for my toddler.

Are you ready to wreck it? Daily showtimes are 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 4 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. Tickets are on sale now and available at the El Capitan Theatre (6838 Hollywood Blvd.), online or by calling 800-DISNEY6. Special group rates for parties of 20 or more are available by calling 818-845-3110. Showtimes are subject to change.
