Did you know November is National Bread Month? Yes, people still eat bread, even though there have been diets and trends that tell you to stay away from the carbs! Bread, actually has many health benefits, like providing you with whole grains, fiber and can be a great source of iron and folic acid! Plus, it just tastes good!

Your body needs fuel to keep you going, and bread’s complex carbohydrates provide lasting energy your body needs on a daily basis. It’s no secret that regardless of the type of sandwich you make, the bread is the most important ingredient.

This year marks the 250th anniversary of the sandwich. Some of my favorite childhood memories involved PB&J sandwiches, grilled cheese sandwiches and turkey sandwiches made after Thanksgiving!

Sending your child to school with a bento box sandwich just might earn you the “coolest mom” around badge, or at the very least keep your child eating their lunch. It’s also a great way to incorporate whole grains into their diet! Peanut butter and jelly, ham and cheese, even veggies and hummus on bread, can be taken to the next level when shaped like a popular animal or character!

You can buy everything you need to make these Bento Box Sandwich creations and more here.

Sandwiches are the most popular lunch box staple for everyone, from children to adults. Why are they so popular? Because sandwiches are one of the easiest, most versatile and convenient ways to make a healthy meal for anyone.

According to the the National Bread Month fact sheet, 41% of American adults eat sandwiches up to six times and a week, and 60% eat sandwiches at least once a week.
