Our First Bloggers Go Adventure Begins in Phoenix

By now, most of you probably know, I often spend more time in airports and hotels than I do at home, because I love to travel! So it’s only natural that I’d partner with my good friend Kas of Southern Bella’s Ways to Save to launch Bloggers Go! A collective of influential travel bloggers, we’ll explore new destinations, cross adventures off bucket lists, and share the secret squirrel scoop with our readers. We’ve already had some pretty amazing experiences together, on press trips and more, but we’ve got a lot more planned.

“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You’re on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who’ll decide where to go…”
Dr. Seuss, Oh, the Places You’ll Go!

Our first official Bloggers Go adventure will feature Phoenix, Arizona. From April 12-16, we’ll get to experience an ultimate girlfriend’s getaway that the fun folks at the Phoenix CVB have planned for us.

Our first evening, we’ll stay at the recently renovated Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort, and enjoy dinner at the Different Pointe of View RestaurantI’m so excited to eat at the restaurant, known for both its breathtaking views and bold menu! (I’m hoping that translates into some spicy dishes!)

The next morning, its time to reach for the skies and cross “Hot air balloon ride” off my bucket list with Hot Air Expeditions. I can’t wait to capture photos of some of the fantastic scenery from 300+ feet in the air. I asked if we could jump out of them, but I was quickly turned out. <sadface>

After a beautiful morning floating over the Phoenix area, we’ll head back to the resort for some relaxation at the Tocaloma Spa.

While relaxing in our private cabana around the Falls Water Village, we’ll order lunch and maybe a few cocktails from the Cascades Cafe. Ok, who am I kidding? We’ll probably order a lot of cocktails.

Swimming, sunning, and tweeting from the cabana can make one hungry, so for dinner we’re eating at the new Salty Sow restaurant. The gastropub serves local sustainable food in a modern barn type atmosphere. And, I know Tara our bacon lovin’ friend will be in hog heaven.

We’ll switch locations mid stay and check into the Hyatt Scottsdale where, surprise surprise, we have some more pampering in store at their Spa Avania.

Once our minds and bodies are rejuvenated, we’ll visit the Musical Instrument Museum and some time exploring Arizona trails on horseback with Fort McDowell Adventures.

We’ll savor our last dinner in the Southwest at Searsucker Scottsdale. I just took a look at the menu and I’m already drooling. The “smalls” (which appear to be like Tapas) look AMAZING. I see lots of bacon and spiciness…like these habanero pickles – YUMMM!
