Supplies

For each place card setting, you will need the following:

3 standard-sized candy canes
Hot glue gun, permanent double-sided glue dots, or clear scotch tape
About 6 inches of holiday ribbon, tinsel or trim. (I used very narrow holiday washi tape)
Holiday place cards, pictures or envelopes. (I got these Santa Pocket Envelopes by Recollections™, 3.5″ x 5.5″ at Micheals).

*I removed the plastic that the candy canes were individually wrapped in. If you think your guests might want to eat them or take them home as favors, you may want to leave this protective plastic on and opt to use the clear scotch tape to bind them so the candy canes will still be edible.

Instructions

Heat your glue gun or other adhesive and make sure you have it handy so you can quickly pick it up while holding the candy canes in place.

Once you have the arrangement you prefer for the candy canes, hold them (all three) tightly in your hand and level the bottom by standing the bundle up on a flat surface.

Once satisfied with the arrangement you will glue or tape them together. Start by binding just two of the candy canes together and then once those have set, glue the third in place.

*Tip, if using washi tape, consider wrapping the tape around two full times to help hold the tape in place. Wrap two together and then wrap the third one in on the second round. You could also add a tiny tab of glue to help.

Once the grouping is bound together, you can then decoratively wrap any additional trim around the candy cane cluster.

Use cute cards like these Santa Pocket Envelopes, use photos or print your own place settings.

Feel free to make these ahead of time as they store nicely at room temperature until you’re ready to use them.
