We have been at the potty training process for a few weeks now and things have been going well. Some days have been better than others but our biggest problem is the novelty quickly wears off. Going to the potty is work. She thinks It’s way easier for mom to change my diapers. So how to keep her interested?

I found this fantastic custom Potty Progress Chart. We customized it with her name and the goals we wanted to achieve like “telling mom and dad I need to go, I sat on the Potty, I went potty, I wiped” ect. Instead of boring old check marks we made it even more fun by giving her a sticker to apply for each success. We keep the chart on the fridge for everyone to see and congratulate her.

The Potty Progress Chart been a great incentive. It’s a way for all of us to visually track her accomplishment and offers positive reinforcement. It has even been helpful for mom and dad because when we see the great days, the challenging days seem less overwhelming. But it’s important to offer more than just a way of seeing her accomplishment. When we have had a great day and hit at least half of her goals we like to give her a reward. It can be TV time to watch her favorite Disney movie, an ice cream cone, a bike ride or a fun afternoon of play like we did today.
