There is something magical about the countdown to Christmas. When I was a kid, we made a big deal of it. Each year we made paper chains, and my sister and I would argue over who got to rip the ring off for the day. My Mom would also get a Christmas tree-shaped advent calendar filled with chocolate that we would tear into. It was like a little tiny present for every day we counted down. I have been so excited to pass this tradition along to my own children, and I was thrilled to be able to try out the Playmobil 1.2.3 Advent Calendar – Christmas in the Forest.
The box comes with 24 special gifts that kids can use to create their own Christmas scene throughout the holiday season. It is exactly what I was looking for to make the Christmas countdown a special event, and one I hope they will remember years from now.
The box is constructed with doors that pop open and reveal the item of the day. Kids will love the holiday surprises including a sleigh, reindeer, Santa, snowman, and woodland creatures. True to all Playmobil items, they are made with durable material that survives all my kids put it through…and the items are easy to wash. Trust me, I have had to wash a lot of food and marker off toys. They are also perfect for a variety of ages with the easy to grasp design.
It is a whole new way to celebrate one of my favorite traditions and share it with my kids.
Playmobil has also managed to create a special playset to liven up another one of my favorite Christmas traditions – making Christmas cookies! No Christmas season would be complete without a baking session. Playmobil has come out with a Christmas Bakery with Cookie Cutters, and it is one of the most adorable Playmobil sets ever!
The dedication to creating unique, realistic playsets is always amazing to me. This Christmas bakery is a snowy little cabin that features Santa and his elves, baking yummy treats and sending them down the cookie chute for delivery.
The careful details make it adorably realistic like the tiny mailbox, cookie sheets, and baking supplies. These epic designs and the large variety of accessories manage to keep my son’s attention for hours. I will also be the first to admit that I also enjoy sitting and playing alongside him. It takes me back to my own childhood and the hours I would spend playing with dollhouses.
The best part is the cookie cutters that come with the set and adorn the roof. We can incorporate the playset into our holiday traditions and make delicious treats for our friends and family.
It is important to me that my kids spend more time playing than staring at a screen, and Playmobil somehow continues to create imaginative toys that encourage imagination and interactive play.
