Halloween Decorating Ideas: The Greedy Pumpkin
Today as I was cleaning my house I was thinking about all the things I still had to accomplish – the articles to write, the homework, and that I still hadn’t found time to squeeze in the gym this week. Sigh. About the time I tripped over my box of Halloween decorations in an effort to get to the broom, I realized our annual Halloween Party is only 10 days away and I wasn’t the least bit ready for it.
Usually… I look forward to our annual Halloween Party. Heck, Halloween is my favorite time of year.
Usually… skeleton corpse have sprouted out from RIP graves in our yard by now and the house is starting to look a bit spooky. This year I have three lonely bats clinging to a window.
Usually… I have already purchased our costumes, and I haven’t even decided what to be yet.
Suddenly I felt a bit exhausted thinking of it all. Leaving the broom forgotten, I pulled a chair up to the table and became engrossed in the PEOPLE Magazine and Hershey’s Dish Candy that was conveniently waiting for me.
If you find yourself getting caught up in the work of the holiday instead of enjoying the Halloween Festivities, follow my two simple rules for an awesome Halloween.
Follow the Rule of 3rds: For every 3rd group of trick or treaters, pilfer a piece of your candy for yourself.
Indulge in Eye Candy: PEOPLE Magazine is full of drool worthy fashion, food and people!
Target even has a printable coupon for $2 off PEOPLE Magazine and Hershey’s Dish Candy! (While Supplies Last)
And this, my friends, is how my husband found me a half hour later. Thoroughly engrossed in the in’s and out’s of Prince Harry’s latest romance – which, to be honest, I hope fizzles out so he can realize that he really belongs with me.
After my mid afternoon “me time”, I was finally feeling in the Halloween spirit. Maybe I just needed a break. After cleaning, I started decorating. My first project was the entryway table since we have guests coming tomorrow. I used some of my Hershey’s Dish Candy to lure them into my lair invite people in.
But my evil pumpkin got a little greedy!
Maybe I should put up a sign warning people that he bites. Or maybe I’ll let them take their chances – more for me right?
