Hair Hair Go Away, Come Again Another Day #iLIGHTPro

It’s been 6 weeks since I first started using the i-LIGHT Pro Intense Pulsed Light Hair Removal System. During this time, I’ve used the system once every two weeks for a total of three treatments. While I wasn’t sure if I would be able to make all of my “appointments” due to travel, it actually didn’t pose a problem because the unit is small and portable and I was able to easily throw it into my suitcase. (It was like having my own personal on-call dermatologist who followed me to Aruba!)

The i-LIGHT Pro is truly a “plug and play” device and is ready for use straight out of the box. Simple and uncomplicated, the 3 steps are easy to follow (and remember).

Step 1 – Shave

Everyone shaves outside on the lawn, right?

Step 2 – Test

Place the area you are going to treat on the window (this may require some yoga or twister moves, depending on location) and if your skin tone is acceptable to proceed, the light will turn from red to green.

Step 3 – Flash

Green light – go! The iLIGHT Pro will automatically select the intensity level or you can manually change it yourself (as you can see, I’m a pansy).

I’m not going to lie. This thing still scares the bejesus out of me each and every time it flashes. No joke – I flinch, wince, jump out of my seat, and squeal. While I eventually got used to the “sting”, I’m not sure I will ever get used to the anticipated “zap!” BUT…. I have to admit, this minor side effect is a small price to pay for the results achieved.

I didn’t have the guts (or patience) to treat my legs so I chose the underarm area instead. You may have a hard time at first finding that perfect angle and pressure of wand to skin contact, but once you do, it’s smooth sailing from there. After the first treatment, I didn’t notice much difference, but after the 2nd and 3rd I have noticed that I no longer have to shave EVERY day. (No, I won’t be posting photos of my underarms!) I’m sad that the treatment only lasts for about 6 months, but at least the maintenance is minimal. This is definitely a convenience over using a razor!
