Snow Days are for Sledding Fun

Last weekend we made our monthly trek to Ludington, MI to visit my in-laws. I love visiting our relatives but I hate the weather. Being located on the shores of Lake Michigan, Ludington always get more snow, lower temperatures and higher winds than we do. Of course this makes my husband super excited, he can never wait to get a little bit of time on the Snow Mobiles. I, on the other hand, dread the cold and the wind. As my luck would have it Ludington was hit with a snow storm Thursday, just in time for us to arrive Friday afternoon. My husband and daughter couldn’t have been more excited. We hadn’t even been “home” for 3 hours and they were already bundling up to go out and play. Bundling up myself I trudged along behind new Vivitar S529 Camera in hand. I may not have been excited for the weather but I love to photograph my family.

So while my daughter exclaimed that she would be riding the green snowmobile with dad , and that papa would be riding the black one I got adjusted to my new camera. By the time they were ready it was quite dark but thankfully it didn’t interfere with picture quality. It was Maddilyn’s First Snowmobile ride and I couldn’t wait to get a picture!

After taking a few laps around the yard she was cold and it was time to get off. I asked her what she thought and all she could say (over and over) was “It was very fun. Dad went really fast!” After hot cocoa and a night spent by the fireplace they were right back at it again the next morning! This time on a sleds of a different variety.

With it’s 16.1 MegaPixels, 5x Optical Zoom, Night Time Setting and Flash I didn’t have to worry distance, time of day or moving objets.

It wasn’t long until the kids had enough carrying sleds up and down the hill and the dogs were plum wore out. Out came the big toys again.

Maddilyn and Jake had so much fun sledding this weekend. The Vivitar gave us some quality pictures that I can’t wait to scrapbook. With features like Self Timer, Red Eye Reduction, a 2.7″ screen, and face detection its perfect for any beginner or first time camera owner. Plus, continous shooting and scene selection options made sure I always got the perfect shot.  Who knew I would get so excited, and have so much fun trudging through the snow after my family all weekend!
