Shakes, Burgers and Smashing Good Food At Smashburger

Smashburger ingredients

What is a “smashburger”? They take a fresh, never frozen certified Angus beef patty, smash it, sear it, and season it, then top it with your choice of toppings. They must have another secret, because their burgers are fantastic! Vegetarians, you have options too, like the black bean veggie burger, the harvest salad, or some fried pickles.

With a name like Smashburger, one might think this is just another burger joint. Wrong! Smashburger does have some amazing burgers, but they also have hand spun milkshakes made with Haagen-Dazs ice cream, chicken sandwiches, salads, and more.

Oh and these are no ordinary milkshakes, this month’s flavor: peanut butter and jelly! They also offer vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, Nutter Butter, Oreo, and Butterfinger. Their shakes are the bomb diggity and so are their burgers.

Diners looking for something spicy should give the “spicy baja” a try, a burger or chicken sandwich with pepper jack cheese, guacamole, lettuce, tomato, onion, spicy chipotle mayo and jalapeños on a chipotle bun. I usually go with the All American burger, because the fresh beef patty is so yummy, it doesn’t need anything extra. My husband, on the other hand, never passes up the chance to have the BBQ, bacon and cheddar burger! He’s definitely not counting calories.

Smashburger kids menu

Kids can choose from a burger, grilled cheese or chicken fingers. Our son isn’t a huge burger fan, but he loves the chicken tenders. Also, if you’re like us and trying to get your kids to eat more veggies, give the veggie frites a try. Both kids enjoyed eating the flash fried carrots and green beans, after we persuaded them to have a bite. They were getting their veggies, and ate less of my sweet potato fries (my favorite).

They have locations throughout the U.S., and menus vary depending on region. Planning to visit Smashburger, make sure and join the Smashclubthey’ll send you a free sandwich offer for signing up and a freebie on your birthday!
