Surf & Sunshine scored amazing access to this year’s Academy Awards festivities at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles Feb. 22, thanks to the generous folks at Diet Coke, Maybelline and People magazine! Their annual Oscars Fan Experience grants lucky ticketholders ringside seats to the star-studded red carpet, and an exclusive live screening of the show itself at the historic El Capitan theatre. It’s the chance of a lifetime for any faithful movie lover!

Celebrity arrivals may not have kicked off until mid-afternoon, but OFE attendees were treated to a number of glamorous perks hours before the flashbulbs started bursting. In addition to a specially designed red carpet photo station courtesy of People, Maybelline offered professional makeup applications and manicures to give fans the full A-list treatment in time to greet the stars. And of course, plenty of Coca-Cola provisions were on hand to keep growling stomachs and parched palates at bay.

Here a few highlights from this year’s damp, yet still dapper Oscars red carpet! It would have taken a lot more than a little rain to put a damper on Hollywood’s biggest night.

  1. I don’t watch the Oscars–but then I am not much of a movie goer either. My thought just now was many years ago it was the men who dressed to kill–now it is the women–wondering when it will switch back or if suddenly both will dress to kill.

  2. This is such an unusual perspective because most regular folk never get to see the carpet from this vantage point!! So very cool!

  3. I would love, love, love to be able to be at the Oscars. It looks like such a blast. I didn’t see all of the pre and post-Oscars coverage so I hadn’t seen all of the stars. I feel a little more caught up. Is it too late to talk dresses?
