Desserts often contain cream, butter, eggs, and other animal products. It’s difficult to go to the store and purchase something that doesn’t contain any of those things. If you want a good, vegan dessert, you either have to make it yourself or spend a fortune at a specialty store. Here are some amazing vegan dessert recipes that you can try without spending a lot of money.

Banana Coconut Cream Pie

People love banana cream pie. What is there not to love? It’s sweet, creamy, and delicious. The banana coconut cream pie is even better. To make the pie, you will need:

¼ cup brown sugar
¼ cup melted vegan butter
2 bananas
2 tbsp shredded coconut
10 vegan graham crackers
1 can cold coconut cream

Coconut cream is the vegan counterpart to whipping cream. If you love to bake, it’s something that you should have on-hand at all times. The first thing you want to do before you begin working on this recipe is put your mixing bowl in the freezer. A stainless steel or glass bowl works best. To begin, crush up all of the graham crackers. The easiest way to do it is in a food processor. It will grind them up nice and fine like a store-bought graham cracker crust. If you don’t have a food processor, you can put the crackers is plastic bags and crush them with your hands or roll over them with a rolling pin.

In a small bowl, combine the crackers, brown sugar, melted butter, and coconut. Put them in your pie plate and press the mixture onto the bottom and sides. Once you have completely covered the inside of the pan, your pie crust is completed. Put the crust in the oven for about 10 minutes at 350 degrees.

Once your crust is completely cool, it’s time to work on the filling. Put your coconut cream in the frozen bowl and beat with a hand mixer on high until it is light and fluffy. Slice a banana into thin slices and cover the bottom of the pie crust. Pour the filling on top of the bananas and top with more bananas, vegan chocolate shavings, cinnamon, or all three! You can serve immediately, but make sure you put the remainder in the fridge immediately.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Everyone loves chocolate chip cookies. You don’t need butter to make them amazing. Here is a fantastic vegan recipe for you to try. Of course, if you decide that you don’t want to make your own, you can purchase vegan chocolate chip cookie dough. Hampton Creek sells Just Cookie Dough, which is absolutely amazing. Otherwise, here is the recipe. For the cookies, you need:

¼ cup almond milk
1 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp vanilla extract
½ cup coconut oil (softened)
1 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 cup vegan chocolate chips
½ tsp salt

The first thing you need to do is pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees. First, cream together the wet ingredients. This includes the coconut oil, milk, and vanilla. Add the brown sugar to the wet mixture. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Slowly pour the flour mixture in with the liquid mixture as you mix. Once it’s fully mixed, the mixture will be crumbly. Fold in the chocolate chips last, and mix it all together. Put the cookies on the ungreased baking sheet in spoonfuls, about two inches apart. Bake for about 8 minutes and they’ll be perfect. The edges should be golden brown when finished.

Raw Brownies

Raw brownies are a delicious way to eat brownies without compromising your vegan beliefs or eating something gross and artificial. To make these you will need:

1 cup raw cocoa
2 cups walnuts
2 ½ cups Medjool dates (pitted)
1 cup unsalted almonds (chopped)
¼ tsp sea salt

First, put the walnuts in a food processor and grind them up as fine as possible. Add the cocoa to the food processor and continue to blend. While the food processor is going, drop the dates one by one through the feed tube. Once it’s fully mixed, you have your brownie mixture. If the mixture. Spread the mixture in the greased baking pan and add the almond shavings on top. Refrigerate until cold, and then it’s ready to serve.

These three vegan desserts are all delicious and easy to make. You don’t need animal products to have sweets!
