Caramel Hot Buttered Rum Macchiato Recipe

What kind of coffee drinker are you? Are you the I-can’t-function-until-I-have-my-morning-cup kind? Do you like it black or do you load it up with cream and sugar? I’ve always loved the fancy stuff. You know, the espresso, cappuccino, latte, macchiato – all the things that are near impossible to make at home without owning one of those huge professional grade machines that would never fit in my tiny kitchen. So I settle for “just” coffee and sometimes I get creative. That is, until I received the NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto GENIO through an influencer campaign from Mom Central.

Well Merry Christmas to me! Not only does this baby allow me to make some incredibly deliciously fancy drinks, but it’s compact and takes up very little counter space. I wasn’t quite expecting this and am thrilled to have reclaimed more space while cooking!

“NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto is the only machine that truly delivers delicious, coffee house quality creations every time with patented smart capsule technology delivering up to 15 bars of professional pressure and espresso technology.”

Aside from being able to brew over 17 different hot and cold beverages, it’s deceivingly simple design offers a wide range of flexibility and customization options. It has a 21oz water tank along with 3 available height settings for the base to accommodate small espresso cups to a large 16 oz glass and seven choices for amount of liquid dispensed.

I’m incredibly intrigued by all the creative possibilities of the NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto and already have a few unique ways to incorporate these brews into my cooking, but I think I’ll start off simple for now. The impending Holidays have me on a time crunch and so everything I do as of late has been all about “short cuts” and shaving time off chores and tasks.

So, while I fully intend to get crazy with the machine after the Holidays, the first recipe I’d like to share with you is for a no mess, no fuss Caramel Spiced Rum Macchiato – in under 2 minutes.

Step 1: Spoon a generous scoop of Hot Buttered Rum Batter (store bought or even better – remember when I shared my homemade recipe with you? Of course you always have a supply of that in your freezer, right?) into your favorite coffee mug.

Step 2: Brew both pods of the Caramel Latte Macchiato as directed into the mug and stir with a Pirouette.

Step 3: Enjoy.

*TIP* The frozen batter will cool the brew just enough to drink immediately. Try using the Pirouette as a straw right away for a bonus treat!

See, I told you it was no mess, no fuss. This is probably my most favorite thing about the NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto. I can get as complicated or as simple as I want, and always end up with something delicious without getting out of my jammies.

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto. I received product samples to facilitate my review as well as a thank me for my participation.

  1. I would love this coffeemaker. It can make so many delicious drinks. I think my favorite would be the Chococino. A rich, velvety hot chocolate made with the finest cocoa beans. Devilishly smooth hot chocolate with a delicate layer of frothy milk, Chococino is the ultimate indulgence. Thanks for a chance to win this.

  3. I will be the first to admit that I am specific about my coffee, if it doesn’t taste like vanilla, I won’t drink it! As such, my choice is easy, I would love the Vanilla Latte Macchiato!

  4. The “Chococino” sounds incredible, although, as a full time student and worker, coffee is always great for pulling those all-nighters!
