I love getting festive for Holidays but I hate the chinsey decorations that appear on shelves every year near the arrival of the next holiday. So, I did what most people do and I hit the ‘net looking for inspiration. I came across a few 4th of July decor ideas from the subtle to the full blown party.

YOU are the ones who need to pay attention right now. You need to educate yourself. When you use terms like “not all white people are privileged” you have missed the point entirely. White Privilege is NOT about your upbringing, your education or your wealth. It’s about how you are NEVER discriminated against simply because of the colour of your skin. I am white. My childhood was complicated and turbulent, I was not emotionally or financially privileged BUT I DO HAVE WHITE PRIVILEGE. I will be judged (mostly by other white people) for having lots of tattoos. For not being wealthy. For not having the best education. For travelling around the world without a man 😱 For being the loudest person in the room. But I am NEVER judged by the colour of my skin. THIS IS WHITE PRIVILEGE. White people are the ones who have the voices that will be heard. Even if all you can do is speak out. DO IT. White people have the power to close this huge divide that WE have created. WHITE PEOPLE NEED TO STOP BEING ASSHOLES “If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor”“ - Teri Anne . . The above words are not mine, but everything she says applies to me and it she says it better than I ever could. PLEASE just take a moment to think about why you are saying “All Lives Matter”. It could very well be from good intentions. From ignorance of how that phrase discounts and hurts others. . . . Again, remember that when we say Black Lives Matter, we aren’t saying they only matter, we are saying they matter too. We are calling attention to a situation that needs it. Kind of like when we say “Save the Rainforests” - we aren’t saying “Fuck all the other forests”! 😂 We are calling attention to something that needs our help. This is the same here. #BlackLivesMatter #RacismIsNotOk #StopWhiteSupremacy
