While we have been watching Punxsutawney Phil and waiting for winter to end, Kia has totally dominated the first month of the year and kept their eye on the prize. January 2017 was an incredible month for one of the 100 Best Global Brands – from releasing new cars to accepting awards, Kia is building momentum for another banner year. Don’t believe me? See for yourself…

2017 Sportage Named Best New Compact SUV by Cars.com

The Sportage is the longest running nameplate, and the 2017 model has just won Best New Compact SUV from Cars.com. Offering optional front crash prevention, the IIHS Top Safety Pick is roomier and more refined. It offers a suite of advanced driver assistance technologies with improved suspension and steering. Choose from a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine on the FWD SX Turbo or the 2.4 liter engine on the LX and EX trims. This car is proof of just how far Kia has come over the years, and it is no surprise the Sportage nabbed Best New Compact SUV.

2018 Kia Stinger Debuted at North American International Auto Show

If you missed the debut of the Stinger at the North American International Auto Show, you missed a major milestone for Kia. This dream car GT seemed impossible for a company that was devoted to making reliable, mass produced vehicles for everyday drivers, but they stunned crowds in Detroit when this purring beauty took center stage. Offered with multiple engines and drivetrains, the Stinger is a work of art designed to appeal to that part in our brain that can’t help but take a second glance at a sexy car. To see a sculpted, muscle car pass by, growling with a smooth engine roar, you can’t help but stop and stare. A car that screams luxury and captures the epitome of cool, it is the car we dreamt about when we first held our license. Kia has stepped outside their familiar boundaries and proved they have the talent to surprise.

During its reveal at the North American International Auto Show, the Stinger won the EyesOn Design Award for Production Car Design Excellence. Usually reserved for American auto companies and their new introductions, the Stinger came out on top. The EyesOn Design Awards are the official design awards for the NAIAS, and they recognized the mature luxury of the Stinger. It was a well deserved award for Kia, and an example of their ability to never stop surprising. The Stinger will be available for purchase this year.

Kia Motors Breaks New Ground with Super Bowl Ad

If you didn’t see the Super Bowl this year, then you aren’t reading this because there is no WiFi under that rock. With their new spokeswoman, Melissa McCarthy, Kia created a hilarious commercial documenting Melissa’s eco warrior adventures. As their 8th consecutive commercial during the Big Game, Kia decided to take it further. They decided to release the ad on the Kia NiroBot on February 1st. They were the first to launch a Big Game ad on Facebook Messenger showcasing their dedication to new technology and constantly changing the game.

January was the kickoff to an amazing new year, and we can’t wait to see what else Kia has up their sleeve.
