It’s long overdue, but you’ve finally decided to take a vacation with your closest friends. It’s been a while since you’ve gone away without your family and you’re looking forward to the chance to let your hair down. A few days out of town catching up with your friends, relaxing, exploring, and having a good time is all you’re looking forward to. You’ve already chosen the perfect destination and got everyone on board, now all that’s left to do is pack.
What exactly should you take on a girlfriend’s getaway? Here’s a list of things you don’t want to leave behind:
A Few Trendy Outfits
You may have an itinerary but the truth is you never know what you can get into on a trip with your girls. You might lounge by the pool or hit the beach during the day but then decide to go dancing later that night. So, to be on the safe side, you should take a few different outfits with you. Having shorts, tanks, and flip-flops can work well for the beach, a shopping trip, or a light lunch. Sundresses and trendy sandals, however, are great for a night on the town, a fine restaurant, or a special event. Just be sure to try and pack items that are lightweight so that they’re easy to fold and roll for lighter packing.
Cosmetics
What’s a girl’s getaway without a few (more likely a ton) selfies? Of course, you’ll want to have a beat face for the camera. Even if you don’t wear a lot of makeup on a daily basis, a girl’s trip is the perfect time to switch things up a bit. You can find makeup brands like Mented Cosmetics, a black-owned cosmetics company to bring out your best features. At the very least you’ll need a good foundation, lipstick, liner, and eyeshadow.
Swimwear
Are you going on a cruise for your girlfriend’s getaway? Perhaps you’re headed to some tropical island or coastal city? In any event, you’re going to need swimwear to enjoy yourself. Skincare and Haircare
A girl wants to look her best on vacation, so don’t leave home without your beauty regimen. This, of course, includes your skincare and haircare products. A facial wash, exfoliant scrub, and moisturizer for your skin and some conditioner, shampoo, and moisturizer for your hair. If you need a flat iron, blow dryer, or curlers for the trip, be sure to pack those too. You can find all of these items in travel or compact size for easier packing.
Medication and Health Products
You don’t want to get on vacation with your friends only to be stuck in the hotel room sick the entire time. If you are on medication, make sure you have it filled in time to take along with you. Other health products you should take with you might include multivitamins or any other health supplements you use to enhance your well-being.
Entertainment
If you’ve planned some downtime during your girlfriend’s getaway you’re going to need some entertainment. Bringing along a smartphone or good book is recommended. They’re also great for layovers and delays during your travels. If you’re bringing electronic devices for entertainment, just remember to also pack your chargers and adapters.
Sunscreen and Bug Guard
Plan on spending a lot of time outdoors? Protect yourself and your skin with sunscreen and bug guard. Tropical destinations especially are known for having mosquitoes and other bugs that leave nasty bites so using repellent keeps you worry and pain-free. As for sunscreen, be sure that you apply sunscreen with at least SPF 30 every day before heading out the door.
The kids are situated. Your significant other has things under control. And, for once, you and all your girls have the time off. You deserve to enjoy yourself. If you’re going to have a good time, however, you’ll want to make sure you have everything on the list above.
