There is something about the holidays that send me into a cleaning frenzy. Maybe it’s the fact that I know an influx of “new” is going to be arriving in my house. Maybe it’s that our house, especially our bathroom, will see more guests and foot traffic than ever before. Or maybe it has something to do with the whole idea of a fresh new start happening right after the chaos of the holidays.
I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Scrubbing Bubbles. I received product samples and a promotional item to thank me for participating.
Whatever the case, I always get a serious cleaning bug this time of the year, and you might find me organizing the office area or running the vacuum in the middle of the night. But, despite my sudden penchant for cleaning, there is one area of the home that I will always hate to clean – the bathroom. Apparently, I’m not the only one because I recently learned from the Scrubbing Bubbles® Dirty Work Index that, on average, Americans spend less than 20 minutes each week cleaning their bathrooms. As it turns out, “we” also have some really interesting bathroom habits.
3 Disgusting Facts Concerning Bathroom Habits
- Lid Up No More: Sixty percent of people flush the toilet with the seat up, allowing toilet bacteria to spray out and cover everything in a fine layer of filth.
- When You Gotta Go!: Two out of every five men who take a shower admits to urinating in it. Twenty percent of people claim to also wash delicates in the bathtub, as well.
- Soap or Nope?: Twenty-three percent of people do not wash their hands after using the bathroom.
After reading that, I’m really beginning to question whether or not 20 minutes is nearly enough time to disinfect and clean up the mess. Unfortunately, I’m not sure that even the nauseous feeling those facts invoke can motivate me to spend more time cleaning the bathroom than absolutely necessary. I’m sure you can see the conundrum this creates, especially as the holidays (and all the guests they bring) begin to arrive.
We have three preschoolers creating mega messes as they frost cookies for Santa – with blue frosting; two pets squeezing in one last roll in the mud before the winter frost and a partridge in a pear tree.
In order to save time (and clean up the ick), I like to use multi-purpose products that actually work the first time. I’ve always been a fan of the Scrubbing Bubbles® Foaming Bathroom Cleaner but admittedly had never used any of the other products until I tried the Scrubbing Bubbles® Multi Surface Bathroom Cleaner.
I have to admit, I think I like it so much because it appeals to my lazy nature. It’s my go-to assistant because it works as my bathtub cleaner, shower cleaner and sink cleaner. I just spray it everywhere, allow the expanding “magic” to seep into the nooks and crannies and then wipe it all away for that complete clean. It takes care of the soap scum, hard water stains and even kills 99.9 percent of viruses and bacteria. Boom! I hit my 20 minute goal (and then some) and now I can get back to Pinterest for holiday projects to wow my guests.
