I’ve been to my fair share of weddings in my day and I think a brides favorite phrase is “Isn’t this dress great? You can totally wear it again!” Most times you totally can’t. Which is unfortunate because most times this means the dresses end up hiding in the back of your closet until an acceptable length of time has passed and it can be donated.
Wouldn’t it be great if your bridesmaids could get a dress that actually be worn again at a steal? We found 10 bridesmaid dresses that fit the bill from one of my favorite shopping sites, ModCloth! Best of all, not a single one was found in a “bridesmaid” category.
Before you decide, make sure to consider these three tips.
- Consider the season and time of day. Is it spring, summer, fall or winter? Is it a tropical wedding? Black dresses may be gorgeous for a late party-vibe ceremony and reception but may be a stretch for an early, summer day.
- Keep your bridesmaids in mind. Most of your girls would prefer to have some input and not everyone has the same body type. Perhaps you can pick the colors or fabrics and they can choose the cut. Or you can choose the cut and they can choose the colors. etc Another great idea is going with one particular fabric and then mix/match colors and cuts. If you keep one element the same your girls will still look cohesive.
- But at the end of the day, it is YOUR day. So while you should consider everyone they are there to support you and your choice.

Some of those are so NOT typical bridesmaid looking. Love them! I can’t wait to see photos from your wedding, Jeana!
OH, I really like several of those. Like, want for myself like them! lol.
Those are really pretty! I cannot believe they are all under $100!
Love all the dresses! What I love most about those pictured is that it looks like they can all be worn again for a different occasion.
I was just at a wedding this weekend where the bridal party all wore black dresses but they were all different and I loved the look of it.
Those are SUPER cute! The bridesmaid dress I’m going to pick will totally not be worn again by anyone, ever, LOL. I figure that no one wears their bridesmaid dresses again anyway because everyone has different tastes, and I really want to have big, pretty princess pink cupcake dresses. Lest you think Bridezilla, I’m going to make sure the dresses are either super SUPER cheap (Like $20) or buy them myself, and all the girls can opt-out if they don’t want to be in the bridal party or be dressed up like Barbie. The whole goal of my wedding is to be relaxed, no pressure, and just have fun. :) I love “Dancing with Destiny”!
I let me bridesmaids choose their own dresses and kept the fabric the same. Each of the six girls will also be in a different tropical color – lol…so I hope it works out! We’ll see on 11/11/13!
