The last few decades have seen incredible growth in mobile technology. Thinking back to my first “smartphone” not even 10 years ago I’m amazed at the svelt product I hold in my hand today. Back then smartphones were barely sophisticated data planners but today they have the ability to do so much more. Forget organizing my day, they carry me through it. With organizational tools, planning tools, educational apps, social media, family sharing and now their capabilities are moving their way into our homes.

For most, smarthome technology is about peace of mind. It’s about knowing your home is operating efficiently, it’s being able to check in even from thousands of miles away. We have a whole new generation of connected devices making our homes smarter and more efficient. For us, it started with light switch that allowed me to parent smarter, not harder from Wemo. They’re a growing family of innovative, easy-to-use products that use mobile internet to control your home electronics, power, water, and Wi-Fi right from your smartphone or tablet.

Another product backed by the power of Wemo is the Holmes® Smart Air PurifierAir purifiers can serve as the first line of defense for those suffering from asthma, allergies and other respiratory ailments. Air purifiers work to remove the airborne micro particles that cause so much discomfort for allergy sufferers. This is especially helpful if your allergies derive from your furry family members. According to the Humane Society, over 164 million households have a pet of some kind AND according to WebMd.com one out of every five Americans suffers from allergies.

Did you know: you’re actually allergic to your pet’s dander and not their fur?

Pet dander is actually microscopic flecks of skin shed by animals with fur or feathers. Even though our Roxy is known for having less dander than other breeds, it’s still a problem. As with all breeds, as she grows and ages, pet dander actually gets worse. Regular cleaning, dusting and vaccuuming can help cut down on pet hair and dander, it cant eliminate the particles in the air. Which is where an air purifier can make all the difference.

The Holmes Smart Air Purifier works seemlessly to aid in your battle against dander without becoming another “chore” like vaccuuming and dusting. It allows users to control their home home environment without having to think about it. Thanks to the handy accompanying app, the purifier notifies users when air quality is poor and when it’s time to change the filter. Even more, users can change settings and control it all from anywhere – even thousands of miles from home.
