Screen Shot 2014-04-15 at 4.37.35 PMGetting married is one of the most exciting times in a bride’s life. The groom, the dress, the shoes, the bridesmaids..and the wedding hairstyle. This can be such an overwhelming decision because there are so many factors to consider: face shape, length and hair type, wedding theme, dress and the overall picture you want to present on your special day.  To get you started we have four uniquely different bridal hairstyles and which types of  people they work best for; in addition to the wedding themes they work with.

This sideswept wedding hairstyle is unique in that the girls are mainly placed ontop of the head, instead of at the bottom. I love this style because it can be glamerous or fun, add a few flowers and it can even feel very etheral. It’s a style that works with any face but requires thick hair – consider temporary extensions if you have thin hair.

These low pinned curls are perfect for the traditional tiara and veil wearing bride. They work with medium and long lengths and any thickness.

This hairstyle is chic and elegant. Opt for more beachy waves and a few flowers for the spring beach wedding or keep it chic for an elegant indoor affair.

Vintage weddings are in these past few years and this hairstyles is perfect for those with medium length hair. It’s a low, sleek bun adorned with vintage pin curls coming down the sides.

Now that you have a few ideas, there are some other things to consider. A few quick tips:

  • Purchase Your Dress First:
Find a dress that works for you and create a hairstyle around it.
  • Know Your Accessories:
Not every hairstyle is meant to be worn with flowers, a viel, tiare ect. Bring whatever you *know* you’re going to be wearing on your wedding day to your hairstylist. She can help tailor your hairstyle to the peice.
  • Get a Trial Run:
You  know your wedding day wouldn’t run smoothly without a dress rehearsal the night before. Working with hair is the same concept. Maybe the style you loved, doesn’t look as great in practice.

Last but not least, healthy hair is gorgeous hair. Personally, I battle dull and lifeless hair on a regular basis. The products I use play an important role in the health of my hair. Products that are too drying or heavy way down my curls and steal the shine.

You can’t have big, bouncy girls without beautiful, bouncy hair. The New Dove® Advanced Hair Series offers weightless moisture plus volume and shine so you can keep achieve that bouncy and beautiful hair on your big day.

The NEW Dove Oxygen Moisture works  with fine-flat hair. While Pure Care Dry Oil is a luxurious range of products specifically created to nourish dry, dull hair.

  1. Such beautiful hairstyles. For my wedding I wore my hair both up and down — up in the front around my face but down my back.

  2. I love the long elegant look complimented by big feminine curls. I use Dove products daily and love how they make my hair healthy and strong. I can’t wait to try the Dove Oxygen Moisture!

  3. Ohh, I love all of them! I’m already married but I think I could pretend that I’m getting married all over again, just so I can wear these styles. :)

  4. I love the second hairstyle! For my wedding I had my hair pulled back and in a low chignon. It was fairly simple and classic (and I could never recreate it, if I tried on my own.)

  5. These hairstyles are reminiscent of the 1820s and then again the 1920s. Fashion repeats itself more than you realize.

  6. Oooh, I love that first one! I’m not sure if I’m lucky or sad that Pinterest wasn’t popular when I planned my wedding. I might still be drooling over the gorgeous everythings. :)

  7. Those are all so pretty. My sister and I both have naturally curly hair, so when we got married, we both just wore our hair down. You can’t really style curly hair anyways,

  8. How gorgeous! I wish I had hair that could do that. My straight hair forced me to go with a close bob. Cute but not stunning like these.

  9. Love vintage anything. I especially like the second photo….what a pretty headpiece. Nice post you did. Thanks for sharing.

  10. I’m getting married in less than a year and love the bridal hairstyles you shared. Dove makes such great products too! Thanks for sharing!
