I adore invigorating and energizing citrus scents and this DIY grapefruit sugar scrub is all of this and also super simple to put together – all you will need is a fresh grapefruit and sugar!

There are a few different ways to incorporate the grapefruit – you can juice it, squeeze it and use a mix of the juice and pulp, zest the peel… For this specific scrub, I did a little bit of all three to give nice texture and utilize all of the different parts (and then I saved what wasn’t needed).

Once you place the grapefruit into a bowl, you can slowly add in the sugar until you have the consistency you’re looking for. The exact amount of sugar and grapefruit needed is completely up to you, but plan on about half of a grapefruit and about 1 cup of sugar. I made this one a little more on the wet side to smooth my skin versus drier to buff it.

This should keep nicely in the refrigerator for about a week so you can make it up ahead of time and have it available for when you’re ready to enjoy it.
