Let Them Tame Dragons

My son just started preschool, and I am not sure who is exhausted more after the first week – me or him. Our daily routine has completely changed and those lazy mornings watching him play as I sipped coffee and mapped out the day are long gone. There are alarm clocks and backpacks, lunch boxes, and morning traffic. While it has been a major adjustment, my son has loved having a schedule and things to keep him occupied all day. However, when he gets home, he just wants to play, and I find every avenue to encourage his imaginative play

Just like adults after a long day at work, the last thing kiddos want to do after a day at school is more school work. I have noticed that his normal play is now even more imaginative, and he can spend hours creating his own story lines. Watching him play is the perfect reminder of how important it is for kids to play. It is their way of working through problems and relieving stress. This is why I love Playmobil toy sets. They make fun, exciting sets with choices sure to appease any kid. There is something for anyone, and the detailed, well-made pieces mean kids won’t get bored with them after one day.

Right now, my son’s favorite set is the PLAYMOBIL® Twins with Barf and Belch Playset. Based on the DreamWorks How to Train Your Dragon franchise, he has spent a handful of afternoons breathing fire…Sometimes at his baby brother, but it is all in good fun. The 45 piece set features the twins Ruffnut and Tuffnut Thorston, and their double headed dragon known as Barf and Belch. As any mom of a boy knows, these names will make any kid crack a smile after a long day.

Playmobil gave us the chance to review the set, and my son has been playing nonstop since it arrived. The twins come with a variety of accessories as well as a viking boat. With easily moveable pieces so kids can play out their own dragon taming. It also comes with sheep that are perfect to combine with the Gobber the Belch with Sheep Sling to slingshot sheep into the marked basket. There are also a variety of other Playmobil® dragon sets to collect. Playmobil® makes toys that inspire imaginative play and gets them away from all those screens!
