Warren Farrell once said,

“A woman with organizing skills can run a construction company without ever picking up a hammer and nail.”

Organization is the key to a balanced life, and my main tool has become Windows 8.1. It has simplified the way I approach my every day tasks which frees up my time for the more important things in life.

Windows 8

The easy-to-use interface makes it quick to learn. You’ll be psyched by the many helpful apps it has to offer. Here are some of my favorites.

Reading List

Reading list 3

Countless times throughout the day, I use the internet to look up a phone number, pay a bill, or research something, and I always happen to see something I want to read. However, I hardly ever have the time right at that moment to stop and read the article. With Windows 8.1 you can simply add it to your reading list and organize by genre then revisit the web page when you have time to spare.

Food and Drink

I HATE to cook! To me, it is not relaxing. It is exhausting, stressful, and the end result is never that great. However, unless I want to eat mac and cheese every night, it is something that must be done (mostly because my husband is sick of mac and cheese). With the Food and Drink App I can simply find recipes for any meal of the day, create a weekly meal plan, and store the recipe for later use. I can even create an automatic grocery list right from the recipe!

People

Sync your social media and email contacts to your People app and everyone will be in one convenient location right at your fingertips.

One Note

One Note 1

With one note, I can keep track of all my projects. Its abstract design lets me create whatever I may need to keep myself organized. I can make lists, tables, or just type a plain document. Then, I can insert pdfs or pictures. I can even hand write in notes or draw diagrams. It is perfect whether for school, work, or just organizing extracurricular activities.

Calendar

Calendar

I can make notes and look at my schedule hour by hour for the week or an overview of the whole month. As soon as I turn on my computer I can see what is on the agenda for the day.

The Cloud

Everything that I accomplish on my laptop can be saved to my cloud and accessed anywhere there is internet access. I can get documents on my phone or on my work computer right from my cloud. Long gone are the days of sticky notes, notebooks, and portable storage to carry around.

Windows 8.1 has streamlined my everyday tasks and made it easier for me to get more done during the day. The easy to use apps are designed to be efficient and helpful which allows me to focus on the content of my work instead of the organization.

This is especially true when using the new HP Envy TouchSmart 15.6” touch screen laptop. With AMD’s most powerful mobile processor, it delivers exceptional Gaming and Entertainment experience that rivals the performance of traditionally superior desktops. Now that Windows 8.1 does the organizing for me, my inner extreme gamer can enjoy my “me time” on a high performance machine without any of the classic sacrifices for being on a laptop. Those zombies don’t stand a chance!

You can pick your ultimate zombie killing machine up at your local Best Buy store or online.
