So my mom brought home another “surprise” for me. She called it a present and I knew right away it was not, in fact, a present. Presents are what you get on holidays and your birthday. You open them and play with them. The End. What she usually brings me are not presents. They’re work. She asks me all these questions about what I like or don’t like and then we have to take a million pictures. It’s about that time I decide I’m hungry, or forget how to smile or even look at the camera. Like, whatever it takes, you know? But this was DIFFERENT ya’ll. Inside the box was this watch but it wasn’t a little baby watch like the one I have with cartoon characters on it. It was a grown up watch. (My mom even complained that I got a smartwatch before her). It is pretty smart too. It’s made by this company called VTech. It’s pink and I love that it matches my tablet, which is also made by them. And, oh my gosh, you guys, it makes me feel faaaaabulous when I wear it. Like, I can’t even stop the sass. I just learned how to whistle a few weeks ago and the watch has this really cool feature where I can record myself whistling. It sounds so cool. After I record, I can play it back and whistle along with myself! I think my mom really enjoys that too because she started to get a little twitchy after the 50th time, like she couldn’t contain her joy. I know how she feels. This watch makes me want to DANCE.
Another thing I like is that it helps me learn to tell time. I’m almost five you know – well okay, my birthday isn’t until next April, but when I am five, I’m going to be going to Kindergarten and one of the things you have to know is how to tell time. Plus, my mom is always running late so when I learn how to tell time, I can help her out with that. It has other games too but I’ve kind of been wrapped up with time telling and camera! My last favorite feature is the camera. Sometimes I like to pretend I’m a pirate and it really helps me catch the bad guys. Also, the dog keeps stealing my lunch so I’m thinking about catching her in the act. The screen is pretty big and you know thats a big deal. The grown ups are always comparing the size of their electronics and I have my dads watch totally beat.
The Kidizoom Smartwatch (thats the official name) is what my mom likes to call “kid safe” too. Why do they say that? Kid Safe? I don’t really know why they would need to keep a watch safe from kids. Sometimes I get a little water on it or I drop it and it’s okay. It would be better for grown ups to say its “oops! safe” or ‘resistant.’ They really like the word resistant.
