How many of you have a Bucket List? I hope everyone is holding up their hands right now! I won’t bore you with my entire bucket list but I do want to recommend you add “attend Summerfest” to yours if you’ve never been.

On my first visit to Milwaukee, WI, the shuttle driver was telling us about the city and fun things to do and even though it was the fall he mentioned Summerfest. I had no idea at the time, how big of an event the music festival was or that I’d eventually live in WI and attending Summerfest would go on my Bucket List.

I’m sad to say that in the two years I lived in Pewaukee, a suburb right outside of Milwaukee, I only went to Summerfest once. However, that one time was an incredibly fun experience that I will never forget! Summerfest is so much more than a concert, its a one of a kind event that takes place each summer on the lakefront area of Milwaukee with over 11 stages of music on 75 acres.

For those that live in Milwaukee and the surrounding areas its a summertime tradition that goes back years and is full of wonderful memories. My roommates, always take the day off to attend opening day at Summerfest and have for the last 20 years. Lucky for me they joined me for the Kenny Chesney concert and showed me the ropes, from where to find the best brats to making sure I always had a cold beer in my hand. Oh yeah and our seats were so primo that Chesney walked right past on us on his way to the stage and if I’d wanted to I could have reached out and touched him!

This year Summerfest is celebrating its 45th Anniversary and runs 6/27-7/1 and 7/3-7/8 and features some of the biggest bands! Some of this year’s performers include Foo Fighters, Aerosmith, Rascal Flatts Band, Train, Lady Antebellum, The Beach Boys, Zac Brown Band, Big Time Rush and Neil Diamond!

I totally want to go this year and be apart of their anniversary celebration! I’d love to see Aeromsith, the Beach Boys and Zac Brown in concert and drink some local Milwaukee brew but most of all I just want to experience something familiar and make another summertime memory with friends and music under the stars.
