As parents, we can be fixated on our children’s bodily health and the germs they come into contact with, causing us to stress the importance of hand washing, but brushing their teeth is also just as important. With kids back in school and yearly pictures coming up, it is the perfect reminder to teach our kids about taking care of their teeth.

Sadly, some families don’t have the resources or basic information they need in order to provide proper oral hygiene. While school photos should be a pleasant memory marking a child’s growth, it isn’t always a happy memory for those that can’t properly care for their teeth or are still waiting their turn  for aligners or clear braces.

Colgate is stepping up to help communities promote better oral hygiene and give kids a healthier future.

That’s why Colgate’s Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® has teamed up with the Kids In Need Foundation to help better equip families and educators with the resources they need to promote healthy habits and bright futures. Colgate has donated 25,000 Colgate® Kids toothbrushes and toothpaste tubes to the Kids In Need Foundation to initiate this incredible partnership, and they are looking for others to take the Pledge to encourage .

Teachers, parents and other community members are encouraged to take this pledge. The best part? Every pledge submitted will be entered in a drawing for the chance to win 500 Colgate® Kids toothpaste and toothbrush kits for their elementary school (you can check out the site for full details).

Colgate also has a downloadable oral health curriculum to provide resources and ideas to encourage kids to keep on brushing. It provides adults with all they need to teach kids how to take care of their chompers through healthy habits.

By offering kids simple reminders such as brushing twice a day, flossing, limiting sweets and visiting the dentist, it will help instill the importance of caring for their teeth.

  1. I will join and pledge my support! Kids should be taught to practice oral and dental hygiene early on in life and I love that Colgate is in full support of this. I will help you spread the word to get more people to pledge their support too.
