Easy Last Minute Holiday Photo Gift Idea

I’m obsessed with photography, especially when my children and family are the subjects. The majority of my down time is spent learning photojournalism techniques to better document their lives as they happen. The end result is that my family gets a LOT of photo gifts during the holidays.

Even though I love to give photo gifts, I’m always looking for ways to make them even more personalized. Last month I shared how I turned an ordinary photo book into a personalized memory book. When I ordered my latest photo project from Walmart, a Mounted Photo Print, I knew exactly what I was going to do with it.

Mounted Photos come on a 3/4″ mounting board, ready to hang or place on a table (thanks to the built in stand). I love they way they pop from the walls but I wanted to give this a little something more.  Using some spare jute and glue I attached a hanging line to the back of the mounted photo. Then I picked up a few decorative clothes pins and voila! It’s perfect for displaying holiday greeting cards or attach smaller prints like 4x6s.

They make an adorable photo gift for the holidays and the best part is they’re offered through Walmart’s Same Day Photo service. Simply go online to the Walmart Photo Center and import photos from Facebook, Dropbox, your desktop, Flickr and create your product. Then pick it up while you’re doing your other Holiday shopping.

But what’s really great is that you can also have the items arranged to be picked up in another city or even another state. We live states away from our family and friends so I like that I can make a gift for my mom from the comfort of my couch. Then have it made and picked up at a Walmart near my sister who will deliver it for me on Christmas day – since my mom is notorious for peeking at gifts!

Who on your lists would love a gift like this?

  1. This is an awesome service. I have to try Walmart Photo Center. I’d love to share pictures of my grandchildren to relatives who live many miles away from me. I’m sure they too are eager to have those photos displayed on their mantle.
