The smell of chlorine always takes me back to my summers as a kid. I was fortunate enough to have a pool during my teen years, and I was out there everyday during the summer. Whether you had a pool in your own backyard or you spent summer afternoons at the neighbors or the local pool, there is nothing quite like splashing into those refreshing blue depths on a hot summer afternoon. Something about a pool instigates that playful behavior we often leave behind in adulthood. Even now, when I see a pool I have the urge to run and jump off the side cannonball-ing right into the middle.

However, I am happy to say that as an adult now I can visit some of the most awesome pools around the world that are meant to please the inner child in all of us and still maintain the peaceful, serene resort feel that we deserve after all that hard work during the year. Check out one of these spectacular pools on your next vacation and cool off in luxury.

  1. The one in the Maldives is my favorite. My son likes the ones from India – saying they looked the most fun for a kid!
