Who Will You Add to Your Sprint Framily?

There are over 150 people in my family going back only three generations. Unlike many families, we actually get together on a regular basis. More than that, my first cousins and I were raised like siblings with sleep overs and escaping to our grandparents a part of the normal routine. Then I met my husband, and I learned that best friends can also be like siblings. Not only did they have keys to each others homes, but it was not uncommon for the family to arrive home to find someone already there.  They were so integrated into each others lives it was like watching siblings and it reminded me of my cousins.

Family Photo 3I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Sprint. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and to thank me for participating.

All of these people, these “family” members were standing with us on our wedding day. They were at the hospital for the birth of our daughter. These people are not all blood, but they are still our family.

The family of today is an ever changing picture.  According to the 2010 U.S. Census, 60 percent of total U.S. households are made up of fewer than three people and are growing more quickly than larger households. Married couples without children have grown 11 percent since 2000, and make up more than 40 percent of family households (2010 U.S. Census).

Sprint recognizes that family can mean something broader – including both traditional families but also extending into a group a friends or community. Thus they created Sprint Framily Plans. It’s unlike anything I have seen a cellular company do before.  Sprint Framily Plans offer a pricing program that lets US decide who we consider family.

How it works:

For one line of service, new Sprint customers pay $55 per month per line for unlimited talk, text and 1GB of data. Build a group of at least seven people and everyone gets unlimited talk, text and 1GB of data for $25 per month per line. Plus, for only $20 per month per line, group members can buy up to unlimited data and get a new phone every year.  Each member of the group can customize their plan to meet their unique needs and each account is billed separately.

Sprint Framily Plan
Now your cousins, friends, book club members, and your Weekly Wine Sisters and anyone else in your extended community can all be a part of your “framily.” From April 4 through May 8, new customers who bring their number to Sprint and sign up for a Sprint Framily Plan can receive up to $300 in credit for their current phone and a Visa® Prepaid Card worth up to $350 to cover switching fees!

The announcement of the Sprint Framily Plan makes me all the more excited to share that Surf and Sunshine is a Sprint  Ambassador! Over the course of the next year, we will be sharing our experiences testing various  devices and service options and sharing the results. 1. Of course my husband. I would add my mom and dad my mother in law. I would also add my younger brother and his wife. And three friends.

  2. I think that it’s great that the companies understand that the concept of family is changing from what it used to mean.

  3. This looks like a really great phone. I would really like a phone with a better camera than the one I have now!

  4. This is a really great plan! I don’t think we have Sprint here in Canada, but would love a plan similar to this.

  5. It’s a fun campaign with the framily idea for sure!!!

I have a huge family myself as I am the youngest of 8

  6. I totally want to win this! We have Sprint and have had it for many years now and we have been so happy! I’d add a few more family members to our plan.

  7. I’ve seen these commercials on TV and I’ve been wondering how this works. So glad I read your post. This could really save my family a lot of money!

  8. That’s a pretty incredible giveaway! Totally sharing it for you (if I gave up my Tracphone, my kids would have no reason to make fun of me). ;) Someone’s going to be a happy winner. :)

  9. Hmmm I think my friends and family would beat down my door if I could add them to my phone plan! This is such a great idea for a low priced phone plan!

  10. This is really cool! I admit that I crack up when I see those framily commercials on t.v. That’s really great that you can add friends to your circle.

  11. I would love to do this plan but I don’t know how to get my framily organized to do this. No one has a contract that all ends at the same time to do it.

  12. Too bad I am stuck in a contract with AT&T! I love their ads on TV! “I think we need more beards!” Ha- gets me every time!

  13. I would include my hubby + my parents + my sister + my inalws + aunts/uncles + cousins. It sure sounds like it’s a great deal.

  14. Well we have myself, my husband, sister, and mom all on the same plan. It works out great for us. My husband lusts after that HTC One lol. He is a bit of a tech geek.

  15. I keep debating on if I should go back to Sprint but their competitor T-Mobile which I have seems to be killing them right now. Only thing is, T-Mobile service sucks when I’m traveling.

  16. I have a large, apple using extended family. I’m sure my best friend would be in, too!

  17. Sprint isn’t really big here where I live, so I am with a major provider at the moment. I would consider Sprint, but they would really have to expand in my area first.
