When we headed to Phoenix, Arizona for the very first Bloggers Go girlfriend getaway, there were a few things we knew we could count on.

  • It would be sunny – since Phoenix has 300+ days a year of sunshine.
  • We were going to have fun – because when we’re together, no matter where we are or what we’re doing, there are always good times.
  • And, we were in for some life changing adventure and pampering during our stay in Arizona.

Our stay began at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort. The all-suite resort is surrounded by beauty, tucked into the granite bluffs of the Phoenix Mountain Reserve. And when I say “tucked into the granite bluffs”, I mean it quite literally. I kept walking around thinking – how’d they DO that?!

Since every room is a suite, this resort is perfect for a family stay. You have a bedroom, bathroom and separate living area to spread out in. My favorite part is that the toilet and shower are in a different room than the sink/vanity. This is perfect for when you have that one person who always seems to “hog” the bathroom.

The couch in the living area is a pull out sofa-sleeper in case you need the extra bed and the desk in this area makes it easy to set up shop and blog into the wee hours without having to worry about waking anyone up. (not that I ever work while I’m on vacation…ahem.)

On the 64 acres of property there are 8 pools, the Tocaloma Spa & Salon, an award winning golf course, and plenty of things to do and ways to relax. The AAA Four Diamond resort recently completed $20 million in renovations to make sure their guests have modern amenities.

*TIP* This is a very large, sprawling property. There is a shuttle offered to get you from here to there that is just a phone call away, but I actually really enjoyed being able to add some steps to my Fitbit instead. I think the maps make things look much farther than they are, but do note that the property is hilly so if you’re with small kids or in high heels – you may just want to call the shuttle!

On our first night staying on the Phoenix mountainside, we were spoiled with an amazing dinner at the Different Pointe of View restaurant. This place left such an impression on me, that I’m going to write an entirely separate post about it. Suffice it to say DO NOT miss the opportunity to eat here. It has earned the prestigious AAA Four Diamond Award 23 yrs in a row! Not only will the views alone be worth it, but the menu prepared by Chef Anthony DeMuro is easily some of THE BEST food I have ever eaten. You know it’s a great place when you want to order everything on the menu. And lucky for us, Chef indulged us with an incredible sampling of quite a few of his dishes.

After dining like queens, we gathered around the fire pit at The Terrace Room to relax and roast marshmallows. Mixing a little fire and ice, I had a margarita Popsicle with Grand Marnier infused marshmallow. With a full tummy, a view of the Phoenix skyline, and my favorite girlfriends, the night was the perfect start to our Arizona adventure!

On Saturday, we spent some time relaxing at in a private cabana at the Falls Water Villageand eating lunch from the Cascades Cafe.

We sunned, we swam and some even took a ride down the 138-foot enclosed water-slide.

*TIP* The upper pool area is great for families, while the lower pool offers a more quiet place to enjoy the day.

Regardless, the landscaping was just beautiful no matter where you chose to sit.

And if you’re planning on visiting the resort this summer, the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort is making learning fun for guests with local attractions during this summer’s “Edu-tainment” program. The program will combine visits from the Musical Instrument Museum (we LOVED this place!), Arizona Museum of Youth, Arizona Science Center and Wildlife World Zoo and enjoyable activities for a summer of fun and education.
