KIA has always been synonymous with safe, affordable, family friendly cars. Staples in their lineup like the KIA Sportage, KIA Sedona, and KIA Cadenza have solidified KIA’s spot as one leaders in the automotive industry and a consistent IIHSA Top Safety Pick. However, with the #StingerExperience at the Special Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Auto Show, KIA let it be known that there’s a new bad boy on the block with their 2018 KIA Stinger.

For the largest trade show of aftermarket auto parts, KIA teamed up with West Coast Customs to display their new KIA Stinger in some exciting and unique ways at SEMA 2018. WCC co-founder, Ryan Friedlinghaus, was there to unveil the KIA Stinger GT Wide Body. This beauty with Fi Exhaust, Custom Seamless Widebody Fender Flare Kit, 21” Keen Custom Wheels Rebranded, and a one of a kind WCC Blue Metallic Exterior Paint Job, really wowed the audience.

But Friedlinghaus and the boys at West Coast Customs weren’t finished. They next turned their attention to the KIA Cadenza, and presented their KIA Cadenza Obsidian. This stealthy showstopper featured Custom Metallic Black Paint, Ultra Dark Ceramic Window Tint, and 20” Gloss Black Fittipaldi Wheels. The WCC boys finished it off with Cosmic Copper trim and a Hand-Stitched Suede Dashboard Top Panel to really make the car standout.

KIA also unveiled their very own Stinger GT Federation. For the Stinger, KIA has teamed up with several leading aftermarket accessory providers to offer a handful of unique ways to customize your new Stinger right there in the dealership! The best part is that because KIA has partnered with these companies, customizing your Stinger with their parts doesn’t void your factory warranty from KIA! The Stinger GT Federation at SEMA was equipped with an Air Design USA Body Kit, 20” TSW Wheels, and boldly beautiful bright orange paint job.

The #StingerExperience didn’t stop there. After seeing what is possible in terms of aesthetics, KIA took us to the track to show us how incredible the new KIA Stinger performs. Starting at $32,000, the base model will get you a turbo-4 engine and 255 horses. Bumping up to the available 3.3L twin-turbo V6 will get you 365 horses, 0-60 in 4.7 seconds, and a top speed 167 mph. These were the cars we had the pleasure of driving through the autocross course, and wow do they perform!! The Drift Experience let us ride along with Formula Drift drivers in slightly modified Stingers for the thrill of a lifetime!

With the new KIA Stinger, the automaker combines its tradition of providing safe, reliable, and affordable cars with the topnotch style and performance. Coupled with the aftermarket customization options, the 2018 KIA Stinger is truly in a class of its own.

Kia is a brand partner. All opinions remain our own.

  2. Looks like a really nice looking car, this Kia Stinger. Even if I love trucks/crossovers more than cars, I think I will love this Kia. Not only because of its roomy interiors but because of its fuel efficiency and safety features too.
