Last friday, Whistler and I decided to brave the pouring rain and head down to Disneyland Park in Anaheim for a sneak peek of the new CAPTAIN AMERICA: The Living Legend and Symbol of Courage exhibit at Innoventions. Ever since I visited the set of Captain America: The Winter Soldier at Marvel Studios last year, I’ve had Captain America fever. Don’t get me wrong, I’m an all around Avengers Fangirl, but there was just something about being able to play with a superheroes’ shield that gets a girl excited.
Nevermind that I have a 4 year old son who drags a variety of Avengers into my bed each morning for “snuggle snuggle” time and insisted on being Ironman for Halloween.
Rain boots and jacket with hood, check.
Change of socks, check.
A great superhero attitude, check!
I am a complete and total wimp about going out in the rain and I was NOT looking forward this but turns out it was fantastically worth it. We puddle jumped our way to Tomorrowland with nothing but smiles and laughs, despite the downpour.
I have never been to the Innoventions attraction at Disneyland and once there, wondered how in the world we missed it?!?! If you love Marvel, THIS folks is where it’s at and the newest exhibit (opening to the public on March 7th) is all about Captain America.
The First Avenger’s story is told through a variety of displays starting with a pre/post serum hologram followed by an informative timeline from Steve Roger’s birth up until his face-off with the Winter Soldier.
This informative summary is actually a queue for the main attraction and leads up to a display case featuring Captain America’s WWII uniform prior.
Once around the bend, be prepared to be greeted by Captain America himself (or an amazing likeness thereof), complete with all the courtesy, charisma and patriotism you’d expect from the First Avenger.
His abilities, unwavering courage and “never say die” attitude has made Captain America a living legend.
Once you finish up with Captain, be sure to check out Ironman and Thor on the same level. Each experience has it’s own special magic and worth the wait in line – just ask Whistler :)
Want to get your own pics with Captain America regardless of where you live? You have to check out the newly released iPhone app “Captain America Experience“. This app allows your mobile device to make the new Captain America movie poster come to life with a really fun, realistic 3D Augmented Reality experience. Here is a great demonstration of what I mean.
This photo was taken with a regular camera of Whistler standing next to the Captain America movie poster.
But when you use the app, Captain America will come crashing out like this!
You can move in close, walk around him, or get silly like I did here (shhh! don’t tell my husband!)
Thank you to Disney for the invitation to be one of the first to experience the new Captain America attraction at Disneyland. All opinions remain my own.

Some of your photos above are amazing. What type of camera/lens are you shooting with?
Thanks Nicole! These were taken with my little point and shoot – Sony TX10. It’s a great waterproof camera that does well in low light and fits in your pocket!
How awesome is that?! Your kiddo is too darn cute and I love that you had fun in the rain – to be a child again and jump in puddles. :) I got the chance to meet THOR a few months ago, but now I need to go back and meet Captain America!!

That is so cool, I’ve never been there either and we go to Disneyland about once a year! Checking it out on our next visit!
How fun! Captain America is my favorite Avenger. I love the pics of your little guy. So cute!
