October 31st is just around the corner and it’s time to start thinking about your Halloween party menu.
Halloween deviled eggs are always popular, but my favorite is this creepy spider deviled eggs recipe.
My keto friendly, low carb and gluten free deviled eggs recipe packs in more protein than traditional deviled eggs due to the cream cheese and chicken filling!
I’m not sure if it’s the Halloween spirit or just the fact that we’re getting into fall, but lately I’ve been drawn to all things spooky.
These creepy spider deviled eggs are an easy way to satisfy my Halloween cravings without resorting to making a whole batch of Halloween treats.
They’re perfect as an appetizer, snack or even as a meal itself. Plus, they look so fun and festive on your Halloween potluck table.
Can I make spider deviled eggs ahead of time?
I’ve been making these delightful deviled eggs for years and everyone always asks when I say it’s my favorite food, “Can I make them ahead of time?”
Well the answer is YES! You can make these 1-2 days in advance and they will still taste just as good.
Just store them in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
Can my kids help make these?
Of course they can! If you have young kids, this spider deviled egg recipe is the perfect way to get them in the kitchen after you’ve spent the afternoon making fun Halloween crafts.
They’ll love helping put everything together and it’s a great opportunity for some Halloween conversation starters.
Some fun questions to ask and answer might be: How many legs to spiders have? How many eyes do spiders have? Do all spiders weave webs?
It might even turn out they’re smarter than us when it comes to knowing things about spiders.
I don’t know much about arachnids but I can tell you that these creepy deviled eggs are pretty tasty…and easy on your holiday waistline.

Ingredients
- 6 eggs, hard boiled
- 12 black olives, halved
- ½ cup cream cheese
- ½ cup cooked chicken
- 1/4 teaspoon Paprika
- Salt and Pepper, to taste
Directions
Boil eggs and remove the shells.
Cut each egg in half. Remove the yolks and set aside.
Add the yolks, cream cheese and chicken to a mixing bowl and blend with a stand mixer or hand mixer until chicken is shredded and filling mixture is combined thoroughly.
Add salt and pepper to taste. If you like more flavor, add ½ tsp garlic powder as well. You can also add 1 tbsp of softened butter or 1 tbsp milk of you prefer a creamier filling.
Scoop some of the mixture into each egg white half.
Top with creepy spiders made from black olives.
Use one half of an olive for the body. Slice another half into 6-8 smaller slices to make the legs. (Real spiders have 8 legs!)
If serving adults, you can also use red onions to make the legs and give them even more flavor.
Use a toothpick to dab a small amount of filling to make the eyes.
Plate eggs and dust with paprika.
