We’re in the final stretch of the school year and I couldn’t be more excited! As usual, I have a jam-packed summer looming ahead of me. I’ll be traveling to Michigan for my sister’s wedding and it is something I’m really looking forward to. I love summers in Michigan. The weather is gorgeous, not nearly as hot as Florida, but still hot enough that I’ve been thinking about ways to stay cool. Especially during the wild bachelorette party and subsequent wedding.

Hot Weather Beauty Tips to Stay Fresh During Summer

Chilled Facial Wipes

This is one of my favorite summer beauty hacks for staying fresh. Throw your facial wipes (baby wipes also work in a pinch) in the freezer for a bit and then toss them in a resealable bag. Store inside a thermal pouch, place in your cooler, the insulated pocket of the diaper bag – the options are endless, really. The cooled wipes are perfect for a quick refresh on your face and arms during the day and the kids will love them too!

Pro tip: You can also store your lotion and face creams in the refrigerator to keep your skin cool and hydrated.

DIY Grapefruit Sugar Scrub

Honestly, one of the simplest ways to keep it fresh during summer is with a daily shower. It’s so nice to rinse off all of the sweat and sunscreen from the day before relaxing into bed at a night. This easy grapefruit sugar scrub recipe helps exfoliate my skin and the citrusy scent is super refreshing.

Pro tip: Always follow up a sugar scrub with hydrating body wash to moisturize the newly exposed skin. Dove’s new Go Fresh Pear & Aloe Vera body wash pairs perfectly with their deodorants.

Deodorant That Doesn’t Disappoint

I’ve got a confession to make. I’ve been using the same Dove Deodorant for a decade, maybe even longer. Ok, NOT the exact same stick, but the same style and scent. I don’t just mean the same brand. I mean, right down to the Shea Butter scent in solid stick form. Over the years, Dove has introduced new scents, a line of dry sprays and up until recently, I’ve stayed steadfast with my tried and true choice. But last month I tried the new dry spray in a new scent, Dove Go Fresh Pear & Aloe Veraand I’ll be honest, I’m kinda digging it.

Dove isn’t the type of deodorant that requires you to reapply throughout the day. Just once in the morning and you’re set. However, I find that I like to put on the solid stick in the morning and then freshen up with the dry spray on particularly hot and humid Florida afternoons. It just feels cool and refreshing, plus, it smells ah-mazing.

You can pick up the new scent at Walmart in store or online and take advantage of the Checkout51 rebate for $1.25 back on the product (valid until 7/18).

SPF in EVERYTHING

Healthy skin is the first step in feeling and looking beautiful and fresh, whether it’s 8 or 80 degrees outside. Which is why I always opt for the SPF option in all of my beauty products. Hand lotions, facial moisturizers, bb creams, foundation and, of course, chapstick all come in SPF options. Not only will it keep your skin healthy, but it will also help prevent you from looking like a lobster after long days in the sun or developing leather-like wrinkly skin before your time! Don’t forget to apply sunscreen to any parts of your body not covered with SPF beauty products.
