Reading through all the Noom reviews to try and see if the Noom diet is right for you? We give you our honest, real opinion along with before and after pics.

I hate to admit it, but I have gained weight, a noticeable amount, and I am having the worst time losing it. In my twenties, all I had to do was modify my diet slightly and get in some weekly jogs. I never needed to try a diet plan like Weight Watchers or Atkins.

Now, in my thirties, after two kids, it is a whole new ball game. I have finally come to terms with the idea that I have to make actual life changes to take this weight off and keep it off long term.

However, even having accepted that idea, I also realized I need to be honest about what I am actually eating and how much I am really working out.

I have been lying to myself about my daily habits and after tracking my actions with a weight loss program, I have finally been able to make real changes.

How can I lose weight fast?

I’m just going to rip off the bandaid here – sorry, but the bottom line is that there is no magic weight loss trick.

A lot of people try to lose weight quickly, but they cut corners, overestimate how effective their workouts are, and underestimate how many calories they are eating – essentially preventing them from actually reaching their goals.

None of us want to give up the things we love to eat or get on that treadmill every day, but the truth is, we have to in order to lose weight.

There is no secret diet plan, there is no magic pill.

Losing weight is basic math. You have to burn more than you consume. That is it. That’s how you lose weight.

There is no magic diet or workout plan. You need a to create a deficit in your caloric intake – 3,000 calories for one pound, to be exact.

So get real with yourself and own up to the fact that if you aren’t losing the weight, you have probably made a mistake in your math somewhere and those cheats are likely erasing any gains.

As much as that might suck to admit, it is in fact possible and you need to be able to hold yourself accountable.

If you want to lose weight, you have to track your progress every day, get real about the bad habits that are holding you back and commit to healthy habits to get you back on track.

The easiest way to do that in today’s world is with a weight loss app you can install on your phone. You are on your phone all day anyway, so it only makes sense to use a digital weight loss program to record your meals and workouts to see how well you are really doing.

What is Noom all about?

The Noom diet plan (not really, but that’s what a lot of people are calling it) is focused on low-calorie foods and was developed with input by registered dietitians.

Part of the success of Noom is that it focuses on making behavioral modifications that are much longer lasting than simply trying to stick to a special meal plan. The Noom app allows you to be honest with yourself about how committed you truly are and what areas may need to be improved.

In my struggle to take off the pounds, I had the chance to review the weight loss program Noom, and it has given me the kick in the butt that I need. The weight loss app has allowed me to log my meals with ease and track my exercise in order to give me a clear path to my weight loss goal.

What is the Noom diet?

The Noom diet actually isn’t really a diet in the traditional sense. It provides daily tips and a personal weight loss expert that is trained in cognitive behavior therapy who can help me identify exactly where I am going wrong and how I can change my actions.

I also love that I can message them for help or just encouragement and keep my weight loss journey on track.

What does Noom do?

With Noom, I’ve been able to identify my biggest issue with weight loss – my daily eating habits. I tend to skip meals all day so I can binge on my favorite foods in the evening.

Come on, I can’t be the only one that thinks this is a great cheat, right? I will avoid food all day and then the moment I get in the door from work, tired and cranky, I will inhale three pieces of pizza or whatever carb heavy thing I am craving.

I also tend to indulge in wine without realizing just how many calories that adds to my daily intake.

With Noom’s help, I have discovered a variety of hidden calorie mines that are throwing me way over my daily limit.

How do you use Noom?

Noom has an easy to use daily log that helps me track my calories as well as better understand what kind of foods I should actually be eating.

The food color system they offer is a simple, clear cut way to determine what kind of foods I should be incorporating into my diet that allows me to feel full without a ton of calories.

  • Green foods – fruits, vegetables and whole grains. These are the healthiest choices you can make.
  • Yellow foods – starches and lean meats. These should account for only a moderate part of your daily diet.
  • Red foods – red meats and desserts. A no brainer, but eat these sparingly.

They also offer recipes and a recommended daily calorie budget to guide me to my goal weight. Meal plans aren’t really a thing, but instead it  takes into account what I already eat and then tries to point me in the right direction.

Food logging can sound tedious, but it has turned into a sort of obsession for me. As I log my meals, I can see how many calories I have remaining for the rest of the day. The portion size recommendations also keep me mindful of what is an appropriate amount to be eating during meals.

There are also daily lessons that dig deeper into the mental aspects of health and weight loss and provide me with insight into losing weight.

Losing weight and maintaining it is all about creating a lifestyle that supports it.

This is the magic weight loss diet trick: When you understand how food fuels your body, it becomes easier to decide what foods will best serve your weight loss goal.

What is your experience using Noom?

Noom’s exercise tracker helps record of all my movements from basic step goals during the day to telling me how many calories I have burned during a jog.

Unlike other exercise trackers I have tried, Noom acts as an active health coach during my run and tells me exactly how fast I am running, pushing me the whole time.

What is Noom?

My Noom Weight Loss Expert then looks at my daily logs and offers helpful suggestions on how to stay on track. If they notice that I haven’t been logging meals, I can even have them send me a text or email to remind to get back on track.

These are trained cognitive behavior therapists and a goal specialist that recognize triggers and provide much-needed feedback on how to overcome those daily hurdles we all face while losing weight. They will help you dissect your relationship with food.

After the 14-day trial, I was given a peer support group and group coach so I can share everything from struggles to triumphs and commiserate with other Noom users that are experiencing similar obstacles on their way to goal weight.
